I'm sending this msg now while walking the dogs. Loving this thing although there are a few issues. I'm sure Apple will work them out. Post your opinions.
I thought it was stupid that all the reviews said that the only questionable feature about the phone was the actual phone part.
I wish i'd gotten the first 10 places in line somewhere so I could have sold them.
My 5 year old nokia does just fine...and everywhere is a wifi hotspot now days so I can just whip out the laptop for anything else.

+1
I got 6 and sold them for about a $1800 profit :thumb: I looked at one and thought about keeping it, but the $300 profit was much greater than the coolness of the phone :thumb:

^ damn skippy...it's like with the PS3. I wish I had taken the money and bought 4~5 of them and sold them the day after opening night for what? $1200~1500 a piece? People can be so stupid...

how did you get six when there is a limit of one per person right from the manufacturer?
limits weren't enforced. In Houston you could get two per person. In Amarillo no one gavea shaZam!.
got ya

I am an "Apple Technician" and hold the license for the area where I live for exclusive retail sales and repair of Apple products :thumb: That alloted me an automatic 6 iphones direct from Apple :thumb:
However I don't even own a MAC :thumb: and I rarely work on them :thumb:
Not I. I like my 8525 just fine.

limit was 2 per person.. and Scott is special..
i was thinking about getting one, but im gonna wait a few months till they work all the bugs out cause anytime something that new and great like that comes out you always hear people bitching about how theres glitches n stuff.
my Lg CU500 was free but as soon as i can get a updateed phone (4 months) i will get one for sure.
I bought my Razr about 3-4 months ago, and it's fine for me. No i-anything for me, thankz.
I just think it's a waste... dropping $500-600 on a phone when I've already got one that works, having to switch to AT&T (blech), then paying for a $60+ monthly plan? No thanks.
I'm sure that in a few months the price will come down and other companies will have them, I might get one in a year or more when my current phone dies.

I would get one if it was on Verizon but I will not deal with AT&T/Cingular. It will not be long before other come out with a clone.
there already is a clone in the UK called the HTC Touch. it will be available here in October, not sure who will carry it. i think Vodaphone carries it in the UK.
it's definitely not for everyone, and there are some issues i am encountering, but because it is basically a miniature computer, all updates can happen via software through iTunes.
a little over 6 hrs batter life? At least thats what one person said who owns one. Yeah I'll stick with my helio.
My cell phone beats all of yours...

If those would actually work, I would totally rock one.
My cell phone makes phone calls :dunno_white: Isn't that kinda what you need them to do?
In all honesty, I think the i-phone is just another overhyped toy for people with too much free time... I'm stuck in front of a computer for 8~ish hours a day, I DO NOT need to carry one around with me everywhere I go! Cant check my e-mail while im in the middle of the woods? oh damn... guess whoever wants to sell me that viagra will just have to wait! :2guns:

I so wish we had Verizons full range of service here :sigh
Cingular/AT&T is still better than sprint. I was with sprint for 13 years and just got tired of their outdated approach and lack of interoperability on some phone systems.
like i said, it's a niche. i do need email where ever i go and this was only $200 more than a comparably equipped Blackberry. and i would have had to pay $40 more per month to outfit the BBerry with the same datat services i get from this phone.
If I were in Amirillo, I wouldn't give a shaZam! either.
What do you get battery wise on the Iphone I have heard mixed responses. and for some people the iphone could be a good thing, I would like to have an ipod and a small computer with me at all time. im already with cingular (wait) att and my plan ends soon
ill try it out if someone will let me touch one and make the decision from there
Nepix - Go to an Apple store. They have plenty of demo iPhones for your to try and they are all activated. So you can make calls, check the internet, etc. That's part of what had me sold. I was able to use it before purchasing.
Battery life reports should be taken with a grain of salt. It really depends on how you use it. If you're surfing the net with Wifi, having a conference call with Bluetooth, and watching movies one after another, then yes, the battery will drain on you. But, duh, that will happen with a laptop too.
I check my email every hour or so, click a couple links on the EDGE network, make a few calls and listen to a few songs throughout the day. At the end of the day the battery is about 1/4 down. So, 3-4 days before it needs another charge. Roughly what I had with my RAZR when it was new.
alright, i will go check it out this evening, thats good battery life
keep in mind it's generally good practice to drain a Li-Ion battery down all the way every so often and give it a fresh charge. i did that right away with this one.
one more thing, don't bother demo'ing the phone at an ATT store, i don't think the ATT employees are allowed to even open the box. Go to an Apple store.

IMO id rather have a at&t phone then a cingular phone. my sister has a razr from verizon and its completely locked down- you have to hack into it to get any pictures/ sounds/ ringtones in or out of the phone. I can pretty much do w/e i want on my at&t razr without voiding the warranty and what not- i can even add my own games on it without paying for them. plus at&t gives you the sim card instead of programing the phone so if ur phone breaks u can jsut swap it to ur old phone and not waist money waiting for a new one. just my opinion.
I'm a cheapskate. I'll wait till the 3rd gen iPhone, and buy the 1st.
Some call it frugal, but I'm not in denial.
I have a nokia 6010 , yes, THAT old, and it works very well with a new battery as of yesterday.
If it was $100 and worked with Sprint, I'd think about getting one... :dunno_white: $600 for a phone? Nah...
I thought it was common knowledge at this point that the first gen Apple-anything was to be avoided. Good ideas, with quirks that need another 6 months to discover and iron out.
it has it' a quriks for sure, but nothing on the market now is perfect. I admit to having a fit of buyer' a remorse yesterday. I went to the ATT store to look at the Blackerry Curve and Treo 750. Niether would suit my needs or be 100% compatible with my iMac. After using a coworker's Blackberry for 10 mins, I convinced myself that this was the right purchase.
I do have a visit scheduled to the Genuis Bar tomorrow to help with a wifi issue I'm having.
Q. How do you spell 'leash'?
