Title: Odd WTB
Post by: spc on July 03, 2007, 12:12:22 AM
Well, I just put a deposit down on a '87 GSX-R750 that's been streetfightered.  the only thing I don't like is the tail :icon_confused: and the headlight :icon_confused:

I'm looking for a modern (97+) R6, CBR, GSXR tail section
Doesn't have to be pretty and I'm willing to fix minor cracks etc....
Solo or 2up, don't care
Tell me what ya have and what ya want for it

Thanks ya'll
( WOOHOO, I have a project!!!! )

It's not an odd WTB, it's a WTB from an odd person

Are you sure that in your advanced years you're going to have time for a project bike.

Good to hear you've got it, now some pics.

Yeah,  I meant to take pics when I checked it out, but I forgot the camera.   I have to pick it up by the 14th.
I think I can fit in a project bike between not working and not working
I should be able to ride in 1-2 weeks but he doesn't want me working for a little while after that

Yeah,
I'll be resorting to fleabay for quite a few things :icon_confused: :icon_confused:  I need new front rotors and that is one long and retarded story :icon_rolleyes:

OK OK....  The guy that 'made' it is a chopper guy and thought solid rotors would look cool :o :o  So he found some that fit :o :o  I think fleabay will be cheaper than my local salvage yard on those :thumb:

When I'm medically cleared and re-enlist I think I'm gonna get a 910r brutale.
Keep the Gix around for commuting and take the brutale out on the weekends :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted:

DUDE!!!!!  I just got qouted from geico for a brutale 910r with full coverage and $500 deductible------  1550 annually!!!  That is awesome!!! :thumb: :thumb:
Between Finance payments and insurance, I could own a 910r for just about $300 a month :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted:  I do believe I will be making that purchase a little later in the year :thumb:

OT:  I decided to go all rat bike/streetfighter on the Gix.  I picked up a decent looking taillight for $5 from the local bike shop.  And I just bought a front GSXR seat.  I'm going to just attach the seat to the subframe rails and bolt the taillight onto the end of it :thumb:

Kinda the same style as filipe500's   GS

The only reason my insurance isn't horrible is because I just made it to over three years without a major traffic violation......just had 2 seat belt violations and his last hit and run in the last 3 years

I can't wait to see how this works with my seat :icon_mrgreen:
