sup all.
my name is chris, i live in houston, TX. sadly, i work at a suzuki dealership stealership. i am a parts guy. i love being around the bikes, around the parts, and helping customers with their rides, but i hate how the dealership overcharges. dont think ill be there too much longer, hopefully i can find a better dealer to work for.
anyways. nuff bout that. i just had a 94 gs500e GIVEN to me (FREEEEEBIE!!!!) a freind who worked the parts counter with me had it, i begged him to sell it to me for about a year, well he wore out the tires and everything else maintence wise and he decided to give it to me, as he doesnt have time/interest to work on it, and i can get parts uber cheap. lol, i dont even buy parts from my employer, even with a dealer cost + 10% discount. they mark up cost and find other ways to screw you...sad huh? a very good friend of mine started his own motorcycle garage, and has a parts-unlimited account etc...i get all my stuff through him for cost. :thumb:
well after having the bike for a day or two, i put together a parts list. looks like im gonna have to spend about $250 to get her back on the road, and maybe a couple hundred more within a thousand miles or so. still not bad considering it was a freebie. not bad at all!
i plan to make this bike a commuter for now, but down the road i may well install some trick bits and take to the trackdays for fun. also plan to learn some things on the bike, like do the valves, carbs, etc...yup, i saw kerry's video and its awesome.
enough babble. just wanted to say hi. i hope to learn alot from the forums, and i can also offer some info as well. like i said i work a suzuki parts counter, so if you have parts questions ill try to help with them.
