Title: Got my replacement bike today
Post by: annguyen1981 on July 03, 2007, 08:39:04 PM
Damn...  it's SOOOO quiet...  I miss my Micron exhaust.

And this break-in period is gonna be MURDER!!!  The fastest I can go without going above 6000 RPM is 70 mph in 6th gear.

But I'm glad I'm back on two wheels.  Too bad it's gonna RAIN TOMORROW!!!

Oh well. :thumb:

and another question, your family owns that building right? if so, go to a home depot or lowes get an eye bolt like this(http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/productImage/65dcfb37-2949-4455-a9b7-430ed1eb7cf7_400.jpg) drill into the concrete, put these in it, fill holes with concrete, chain bike to them, bike goes nowhere. cause even with teh lock if someone wants your shaZam! bad enough theyll get it. four people can carry a bike. trust me on that, we carried several from the truck when we picked them up at the auto auctions

I'm gonna be fabricating my own fender eliminator kit...  I can't really justify spending $100+ on a thin piece of metal.

Regarding security, I'm looking for the cable that goes with the Xena alarm...  that way, I can use it as a disc alarm when I'm not at home, and during the nighttime, I can chain it up to something...

But in the meantime, I've got the disc alarm, remote alarm, and the gate to the driveway is locked too.

Oh yeah...  I moved my dad's VStar1100 angled in front of my bike, and then I moved their car in front of both bikes...

Yeah I would make it myself, it isn't going to be that hard to take it off.  I just helped my friend take his off hih daytona 675 and it looks a lot better than with it.

Grats on the new bike An.  Hopefully this one won't get stolen.  You did get GAP insurance didn't you?

GAP is the company, right?

I live in Massachusetts, and because we're the only state (grumble) that has regulated insurance, we cannot just go to ANY insurance company and get insured.  So I pay about $600 for the R6 per year WITHOUT collision.

And my car (2000 Chrysler Cirrus) cost me $1900 full coverage.  :(

GAP insurance is something you get when you have a loan for the bike and is normally purchased from the financer of the bike.  It covers the negative equity should there be any in the event that the bike is totaled/stolen.

However in your case I think that you bought the bike right out, so you wouldn't have this option.

I see.

Yes, I did buy the bike 100%.  So I guess getting GAP insurance is NOT a good idea...

Cool man didn't know you bought it out right  :thumb:.  Do you have a window over looking where you park your bike?  If you do get an air soft gun and hook up a motion sensor to go off in your room if the bike is moved.  Then shoot whoever screwing with your bike  :icon_mrgreen:.
