Ok I have a brand new gs500f 07 for those of you that don't know that. I want to get insurance, I know it will be somewhat cheap for min but does anybody know of a good insurance company? I heard state farm is the best for motorcycles. Anybody have a great insurance company they go through? Thanks, I will post some quotes as I find them.

25k for medical is not much I would bump that up.
I paid $300ish a year for full coverage with state farm for my GS. My 750 is $376 for full coverage.
Give your local state farm agent a call and see what happens. I do have multi vechile, health, and home through them.

thats weird, I have been getting around 650ish for the avg price. and for some reason the easurance website for motorcycles goes to geico lmao. somebody hacked e surance
Try www.Bike-Line.com. This is markels Program and it seems to be pretty competitive.
is your Credit rating bad? Because that will change your rate signifactly. as will insurance cancelled for non payment. Also Driving record. thats a killer on bikes
I pay 379 a year, full coverage 3000 custom parts in michigan, 21 year old male
25k goes very fast for medical. I've almost hit that just to fix a broken thumb, and my ER visit. Progressive sucks!!!!! They deny every claim. My attorney has had to sue them more times than he can count and they never settle. They never win either. Just a bunch of rabbit f%$king monkey's if you ask me. I'm going with USAA for the Gixx. 50k coverage across the board ( inluding UM ) for 168.
Yeah il check those out, but the funny thing is i have no tickets, no accidents, and pretty good credit. the only thing i have is a paid off collection thing. other than that its pretty clean
the email they sent me lmao

Umm, hate to break it to you but USAA motorcycle insurance is underwritten by progressive, so its still progressive. And I got cheaper rates straight from progressive rather than through USAA.
Yeah progressive wasn't that bad, I'm going to call state farm and all state first then make a decision
There's a place is Factoria (Bellevue) that searches through all of them to find the cheapest rates... I can't remember what they're called though... :icon_rolleyes:

yeah I will check into it, I live really close to that actually
I work for Nationwide. I get no discounts and pay $65. for six months. We do check credit, your premium drops the better your credit is. the only company that normally beats our rates in NC is Farm Bureau. Nationwide does give discounts for MSF completion, just not in NC
I would always run higher limits. Think about the cost of the average car on the road. People get hurt all the time I would make sure to have at least 50/100 that way it's less likely your going to get a law suite against you.
Un and underinsured is the best way to protect your self from others who run around with no insurance.
Medpay doesn't apply to motorcycles in NC.
Nationwide likes to have other business like your auto before adding your bike to it.
So I am kinda confused about insurance, what would be full coverage for me? I want full coverage for my bike.

Collision &
Comp, Fire, Theift, and Vandalisam,
CAC F&TV is what it's called here in NC.
plus Colision
Most people think full coverage means Comp & collision but their are different levels of what you can be insured on.
Collision:
you can change your deductable on a bike from $50-500 the lower the deductable the high you pay(it's like ten bucks higher at $50 deductable)
CAC F&TV:
Is the same thing as Comp on your carYou can chosse not to have fire, theift, and or vadalisam.
Liability:
Is what $ you want a company to cover you for.
Property damage; 25K-1ml in NC.
Bodily I; Is (30/60-1ml/1ml) All BI coverages are the same
I did a fony Quote and found going 1ML was only $50 for six months.
+1
For Full Coverage, you need to have Comp and Collision, otherwise you only have liablity coverage, break the bike you pay.
You never said how old you are? Wondering if thats playing a role. gotta think it is.
I NC it not age it years of driving. I 27 with speeding tickets. Rates change depending on where you are west NC has very few auto crashes in comparison to other places so we are cheaper.
granted, experiance plays a role but also being under 25 sucks balls too. and then also being under 20. there is a drop at both ages just 25 it drops alot more
In NC it's illegal to charge more becuase of age. So they get around it by charging high rates to people with no experiance. you could be 30 and get charged first few years.
ah got ya. Wish it was that way here. Stupid No Fault makes things more expensive too. I know washington is a Age state, I lived there for 2 years. Friday Harbor. Bet that would be some good riding country. In fact I know it would be. Georgous Island.

well damn, anybody know of a good insurance for full coverage? I think my best was progressive but im not sure stilll. I think I will get insurance the next month so I need to start looking.
you should requote with progressive and the others, make sure you have Comp and Collission coverage, the other coverages are fine.

what would be a good coverage for comp n collision?
250-500 Dedutable is usually standard on each. The Payment will be what is called actual cash value, so should you ruin your bike, The Value to replace the bike according to say Kelley blue book.

Would that be full covverage or does coll an comp count as full?
Collision and comp with liablity(required on all policies) is full coverage
