It's B.A.G.S.!
Did you get your crabs taken care of? :icon_mrgreen:
woops :icon_confused: ma bad!
No I am planning for sunday.... but before doing that I think, meeting BAGS would be nice....it will also be good for a quick supervision of my bike.
btw I have this toolset with me
http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?vertical=TOOL&cat=Tool+Sets&subcat=Specialty+Tool+Sets&pid=00930485000&BV_UseBVCookie=Yes
Do I need the carb sync tool (manometer)?
scratch syncs my crabs, so I'll let him advise ya' there. :)
When do you want to ride? I can probably make it tomorrow if it's not so early that I'm still half asleep and not so late that it's hotter than Hades...and if the stars are aligned properly, and...just kiddin'... Whad ya' have in mind? :icon_mrgreen:
nikux:
I noticed in an earlier post that you asked about a S.D. bike mechanic. Are you in northern or southern Cali?
<---she gets confused easily ;)
I was in san diego till June, and am now in mountain view for an internship. So as you can see I am new here and dont have much suggestion on the route but skyline bvld looks good on the map....How about it?
Well, I've lived in the bay area for about 8 years now, but I'm totally clueless about routes, too!
But I'm up for a ride! :thumb:
How much experience do ya' have? I've heard Skyline isn't really n00b-friendly? O0
Not much in america - did sandiego-julian. But I am comfortable with the bike.
Any one else hopping in?
Maybe you're too fast for me then! :icon_lol:
I cant be fast for anyone ;), I am the take-it-slow-and-enjoy-the-breeze kind of the rider...not the zip-zoom-n-fly kinds :icon_mrgreen:
   :thumb:
:icon_mrgreen: So what time suits you the best? 10:00/11:00 what about sanjay and scratch and other members of BAGS will they come?
I PM'd scratch, WildBlue, brett, 70 cam guy, and sanjay. I don't know if they're busy tomorrow, but at least they should see your thread! :icon_mrgreen:
11am sounds good to me.... I might know of another rider or two who might be able to make it tomorrow. I've sent them a message, too. :thumb:
where we going? :)
ceek

Got your PM, Pandy. Sadly I can't make it this weekend, I already have other plans.
Next time though. Nikux, where's your internship at?

Sorry to hear that you can't make it, but not in the least bit sorry to hear that your camera won't be trained on me every darned second! :flipoff:
I might be totally offbeat in this as I have never planned any meet before, so please help me on this.

I meant in the same thread. :icon_mrgreen:
I merged the two threads, and I inserted the meeting info into your first post. I'm looking forward to the ride tomorrow!
sorry I can't make it, I'm working some overtime time tomorrow morning 4am to noon. We're really backed up in receiving and I have to sort through some things on hold in MRB because planning has started making noise :icon_rolleyes:
next time maybe... scratch, are there still weekly get-togethers that you go to in the south bay? I need to try and make it down one of these days, it's been forever!
I also look a little different than before :o

Ugh, I just got home. I'll set an alarm, but someone call me at 10:30 or so, just in case.
Also, while procrastinating on getting an exhaust hangar bolt, last weekend after the BAGS ride I noticed some cracking where the muffler meets the pipe, so I'll bring my car instead.
That tat is BAD@$$, 70!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   :thumb:
sanjay, I'd call if I remembered where I put your #. :flipoff:  WAKE UP!! I wanna see some drifting. ;)
I have YOUR number. Geez. Anyway, yeah i'm up. See you guys there.
GREAT ride!!! Nice to meet you Nikux, and always great to see you, sanjay! :kiss3: And you, too, Ceek!! :kiss3:
Thanks for organizing, Nikux, and I look forward to riding with you again soon!
(P.S. I'll let you know what time I'm riding by tomorrow after we check our closets. You need gear! :P :icon_mrgreen:)
P.P.S. That was SUCHA kewt child's plate you ordered, sanjay! :icon_twisted: :flipoff:
P.P.P.S. Thanks for lunch, Ceekie!!!!!!!! :kiss3: (I'd have ordered lobster if I knew he was buyin'! ;) )
Mmm...huh? I just woke up from my after-church nap... Glad you guys had a good ride! :thumb:
Carb synchronization - it would only take me 15 minutes to do the actual job, one hour from seat off to seat-back-on (well, maybe only a half hour). So, any afternoon, after work (5pm) this week would be great.
Andy - Awesome! And, sadly the weekly meets kinda faded out, but we now have a monthly meet, Sportbike Nights put on B.A.R.F. by Santa Clara Cycle Accessories @ Kal Barbeque in Sunnyvale the last Wednesday of every month.

When I drive a car I always wear full leathers and a helmet. One can never be too cautious. :thumb:

...thanks for the tips pandy...thanks for the lunch ceek...and thanks for leading us sanjay...
I am overwhelmed with the support of this group. For that matter it was reassuring to know that fuel starvation is common on freeways on GSs and that I should not worry everytime that happens and instead do prime.
Btw, How about this for the trip summary... this is actually skyline blvd.

Whoops, guess I missed this one.
Would've been neat to meet other GS riders. Maybe next time.
I did go on a ride today with some SBR members though.
Good people, good time.

Whoa, just noticed this.
I thought my bike was out of spec or something and needed maintenance, perhaps a valve adjustment or something... but a shop went over the bike already.
Now I'm glad I saw this... but it's a little disturbing. It's happened to me before, while I'm riding on the freeway, and one time on the city streets, where suddenly the engine chokes and dies before I can turn it onto reserve (if that helps). Then I'm stuck on the side for a few minutes before it will start back up and run fine again. :icon_confused:
Good thing for the GS forums.
Do what Pandy used to do with her GS, and switch to Prime before riding off, and switch to On when you stop. It becomes a second-nature habit.
Interesting. My bike has never had fuel starvation problems. I guess 2002 GS's are just the best. :dunno_white: :icon_mrgreen:

SBR is another great site, and I've been on rides and to one of their parties. Definitely great site and great people! Hope you can make the next BAGS ride! :thumb:

Yup, I got very good at switching from ON to PRI at freeway speed when I'd forgotten, and he'd start to sputter....
