I got him about a week ago. The little rascal is always in trouble   I'll try to get pictures up tonight :thumb: I'm not normally a cat person, but I found him in the Wal-Mart parking lot and couldn't leave the poor critter. I swear he's a friggin acrobat :o He climbs on everything
found a few new born kittens that got left at a park once. they were soaked in their own urine and crap. just called animal control to come pick em up.
YEA! Walmart Kitty

I have a Wal Mart cat too. I named her "Kitty".
Inventive, huh?
I've found that rescued animals tend to form much stronger bonds. All my cats and dogs were either rescued, dumped on me, or picked up from the pound.
aye im addicted to kitty cat. ive got 5 rescued cats, and 1 from my sister. and a dog. one of my cats has a spewcial bond with me. wont meow or even be friendly to anyone else. friendly yes but affectionate no. (http://s84.photobucket.com/albums/k2/yamahonkawazuki/?action-view¤t=cat.jpg) thats trhe one im referring to :thumb:

We have 2 kittens , irresponsibly given to my two daughters without asking .
The lady that gave them the kittens to bring home (without asking me or my wife) is the same lady that drove my 9yo home from the bus stop with 3 other kids and the minivan doors open .

A couple months later , we still have the kittens , but no longer have the lady as a neighbor . YAY !

Is she in jail?
As it was an accident and she has a 6yo , i didn't press charges (ok ok .. the wife said "No ,we have to live by her ... just sue the b*tch") , but when the DFS lady stopped in and saw the pictures from the hospital and my daughter's foot , along with my daughter's description of the event , they filed charges themselves with our County Proscecutor & the Sheriff's Office for Criminal Negligence . When DFS went into the lady's house , they found like 11 cats , 6 or 7 dogs , and animal feces all over the house , including on the child's bed . On one hand i'm sad for her daughter for sooooo many reasons , on the other hand i'd like nothing more than to drive over the lady's foot tearing a "Golfball-sized portion of flesh approximately 1/4" thick" (per the paramedic's report) down to the tendon and see how she feels .
A few days afterwards (while my kid was still in Children's hospital - we were there for 7 days) she had the balls to tell our next-door neighbor that we were "a$$holes" for calling a lawyer (her insurance only had $25k coverage , and i was adamant about not suing her directly 'cause she has kids to raise - if DFS didn't take them) , and that she told me she was sorry (the only thing she said to me was "it's just a scrape" as Brie lay there screaming so hard her throat was bleeding before the meds kicked in)
Ahhh ... it's been like 2 months , the post about kittens just kinda set me off ( i WAS in a GREAT mood hehe , see my other posts today )
Sorry for the seriously hijacked thread Terry :icon_rolleyes:
Cheer up butter cup. Here is something odd.

He's living in the guest bedroom until he's big enough to get away from the dog
I couldn't resist the helmet shot. He was trying to climb in it and gave me the idea
not much of a cat person, but cute cat :thumb:
Yeah, I'm not a huge cat fan, but he's too much fun and way too cute. :thumb:
I am a cat person- grew up with both cats and dogs, but have had only cats as an adult. I think you're in for a very interesting journey, at the end of which you may be a confirmed cat person yourself.
Authoritarians can't stand cats for many of the same reasons I like them. You can't dominate them, you can't give them orders. They're not "pack" or "herd" animals, they don't need or want a "leader". You can be their friend, or not.
That is one very intelligent looking kitten. He's going to surprise you.
He is absolutely fearless :o I have the feeling he's going to be a handful :icon_mrgreen:
yeah kittens tend to be that way
Two words: LASER POINTER.
My cat totally spazzes out with the laser pointer!
DO NOT point it in kitty's eyes!
Cute kitten Terry. Very nice of you to rescue an animal. Both of ours are rescue cats.
We have 2 cats A chocolate oriental short hair who thinks she owns everything. And a hurricane Katrina rescue kitten he is a snow shoe seal point that is as neurotic as they come. Of course I don't blame him for being freaked out by weather after surviving outside in a hurricane as a kitten. He has the funniest little nervous twitch's.
I love animals, I couldn't have left him. :thumb: :thumb:
That kitten is freakin' ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :kiss3: :kiss3: :kiss3: :kiss3: :kiss3: :kiss3: :kiss3:
Dude. That thing is cute as can be. Good for you for saving him!
OMFG....Alpha said something *NICE* to someone....please...someone.....get me my smelling salts.... :o
He likes to attack my feet. The little bugger has some seriously sharp claws and teeth :o :o
I've got a slightly smaller, more cat friendly female Lab that I don't have a picture of. The cat will actually attack it. I almost pissed my self laughing the first time I saw it.

You can clip their nails just like you do your own. Get a pair of small fingernail trimmer and hold the kitten. You can push each individual claw out and snip off the tip. Be VERY careful not to snip too much off because you can cut into their nerve endings and it will hurt them and bleed. Do that with each claw and you'll only have to worry about the teeth.
OK, so basically just like a dog's nails but way smaller :thumb:
Hmmmm, I've got a small file that might work on those teeth
Poor kitty!
I keep "Quik Stop" around for when we clip doggie, kitty, and ferret nails. Don't usually need it, but I like to have it just in case.
I'll let the vet handle it, he goes next week for all the usual shaZam! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
It's easier than cleaning your carbs, especially if the claws are white or clear! :icon_mrgreen:
If I didn't already have my own babies as my wallpaper, this one would be my wallpaper...it's da bomb!!!!

That pic is seriously whacked (in a good way)....I have to send it to all my katzer friends! :icon_mrgreen:
The room was pitch black when I took that. Poor cat freaked when the flash went off
Po' kitty!!!!! Do it again!

What he MEANT to say is that p*ssy is his only weakness. ;)
OK, I'll get updated pics soon. The cat is freakin huge now.......he was 12.5lbs a weeks ago :cookoo: and I refuse to have him declawed so I bought some soft claws.....basically just little rubber covers you super glue onto their claws, seems to be working well but he is not a happy kitty right now. he tried to climb up the back of the sofa and got a pretty rude shock as he tumbled back onto the ground.
lol! I may have to do that with my female. She's a regular curtain climber. Though, Rossi only wishes he could corner like a cat on carpet.
Looking forward to seeing the new pics. :)
Like I said, seems to be working quite nicely. I picked up the kit with 2 tubes of glue and 40 nail caps for $22 at petsmart. It says each application should last about 4-6 weeks so, for 4-6 months of not having to worry about finding the cat destroying the sofa's and screens $22 sounds pretty reasonable, especially considering the next stop was autozone where I bought crap for my other baby that will only last me 3 weeks yet totalled $30.
now why did you buy crap terry?
Yeah my realtors still an ass but I do have a kitty now too, I'll post some early and current pics a little later.
Edit:
Crappy cell phone pics of Kitten Oliver (linking directly to pics cause I'm to lazy to resize) :

I love this thread. You can't resist kittens, even if you're allergic to them

Don't kid yourself though. He's thinking "If this bastard moves I'm going to savage his face with my razor sharp claws!"
kittens are great, but they eventually grow up into cats, and that I have little tolerance for..
Little tolerance for what in particular? Independance? Wisdom? An ability to provide for itself? Cleanliness?...
Cats are not angels, but then who is?

Well, he doesn't look like his mother, that's for sure! :)
Cats are amazing creatures and great companions. Mine are family. Nobody comes into my house or shop unless they pass the cat test.
What was rare , is that she only had the one
This was back when Broom was a kitten and didn't know how to come down from a tree after running up it. A few times she would spend the night in the tree, vocally expressing disagreement with the predicament she got herself into .
At first I kept climbing the trees to carry her down to the ground. Generally, she would frisk up and attempt to get away from me climbing further up the tree when I would try to get a hold of her.
Then the idea came to me that if I shot a stream of water from a garden hose over her head, she would be motivated to figure out how to find a way down. That seemed to help only marginally. I think what finally taught her to descend from trees was watching our older cat, Mishka. He was a great mentor to her while growing up.
This is the picture of Broom right after I got her from the tree. She managed to descend a couple of branches, protesting loudly against the water treatment, but I still had to climb the tree to get her down. Not a happy cat at all.

Mishka - the wisest animal I had ever met.
