Both of ya is slow.I hit 25mph going down hill with the wind pushing me.HA!
Okay, seriously now.
Is this guy a troll, or just a re-re?
Before my Exhaust , And kn , altho it had been rejetted , i went about 130 indicated . i think it had even gone off the clock a lil , felt fast getting there ,

More like tentacled marine invertebrate.
The posted speed limit for interstates in the state of Florida is 70 mph. I have been that fast.
Ive hit 180 kmph with my 06'F so I guess thats 111 mph. Im not sure it really had a lot of room left for an increase though.
Im not really sure I wanted to go any faster either since I felt I was about to take to the skies.
130 indicated (my buddy's Hurricane indicated 125-130) , but i have my lunchbox & rejet ready to go , so i plan on burying the needle (hopefully not myself though) at the next open track day . I already had the Cobra F1 exhaust on it then , so i *hope* the rejet & luchbox will be a substanial difference in my 4-6k rpm where it's not doing as much . When i get my ignition advancer from Bob , i'm hoping for a little better roll-on response too (seafoam cured a lot of my lag btw - thanks for the recommendation whoever that was)
The best I get on the street is the speed limit or flow of traffic here in CA.
Or did he mean track?

I dont have a speedo but 10.5K on the tach in 6th gear and 16/39 gearing, how ever fast that is,
did the quick calculation, and at 0% slip its 136.8mph running a BT-090 140-70R17
I've gotten my GS up to about 268,800 furlongs per fortnight indicated.

"Klick" == kilometer.
As far as the original question, I've had it up over 95 mph indicated, and the bike still felt like it had some oomph left in it.
-b.
I have squeezed it up to about 140mph + , but I didn't get to 6th yet, so I'm not sure. Perhaps 160ish?
But I do have some mods, so my bike is fast... gixxer fast.
-Anti 8)
zero mph. not kidding, i havnt go to ride it yet. i should be putting it together tomorrow.
yall are gonna call me a squid, but...
on my 1990 yamaha FZR1000, i have about red-lined it in top gear...indicated 160 mph. mind you this was on a huge stretch of flat road, some miles long, with little to no wind.
the gsxr i had would top out at around 140, but i hardly got it up that fast. 120 is the fastest i go on an average day, maybe 100. thats one of the reasons i wanted a gs500, i dont really need to go faster 99% of the time.
190km/h indicated
Details here... http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=32141.0
The fastest I've done on my bike is 110km/h because that is the speed limit & it is illegal to go faster than the speed limit, because speed kills.
Speed doesn't kill. It's that uncontrolled deceleration that kills :thumb:

Stupid commie aussie government   We believe everything and nothing that's on TV over here.
Honestly I believe speeding is driving/riding too fast for your abilities & the conditions. :thumb:
Dead on. I don't see why, if you have the experience/capability, you shouldn't be able to go ~100mph on the highway :dunno_white: I don't see a lot of point in anything over 120, it just adds in way too many variables for most people's reaction times. (at least on public highways)
I've done 142 with a GPS verification. That was with my NOS kit running though.

When people are shooting at you, the ability to drive/ride fast may well be considered an asset, not a liability.
-b.
Too bad the state of georgia didn't see it that way. I whole-heartedly agree, though.
You crazy kids should be ashamed of youselves going that fast on a GS500 on a public road. The claimed speeds of 120-140 mph are certainly faster than I would or could go on a public road on a GS500. ;)
Well, way back in 02 (2002 not 1902) a couple months before I turned 70, I did get my stock 97 GS500 up to 110 mph indicated in the mountains of upstate NY. Looking back, I think that with my Plexi 2 shield and my 240# butt on board that I must have had a bit of tail wind or have been on a slight downgrade to get it up to 110 and that's all she had. :dunno_white:
I can honestly say that I've never been over 80-85 mph in my 8th decade though. :thumb:
GSJack when were you in Upstate NY? Where were you?
I don't know why you need modificationfications for the GS I touch the 130 mph last nigth without any mods. if you mod you engine is for race ,, and please tell me wish bike you going to race there no more bike inthis category, only old Kawa Ninja 500. so if you want racing mods buy a new bike like My favorite GSX 1000. on that you can touch 180mph that is fast, an if you whant kill yourself a hayabusa is the best suicide booth. goes over 200mph . with my buddy's busa I touch the 120mph in 2nd gear

Went to Americade in Lake George in 2001 and 2002, rode up there with JP (son), a local friend, and a couple of online friends from Atlanta in 02. Stayed out in North Creek and took a group ride up north west of there one day, had lunch near Lake Placid where they held the winter Olympics a few years before. A few of us took off from the group after lunch and never saw them again, some real nice roads up there.
You have to remember the speedo is off , my new acewell wont be , so ill be able 2 say how fast im going , it uses the size of the rim , and works out the rotations ,
Hmm, i dunno , i was blasting along about indicated 130 , and then outta no where this Busa just makes me look like im standing still , it left my sight after about 30 secs , that is quick , lucky i never had any symtoms of Fuel Starvation :thumb:

oH! man for me was worst, 2 of my closer friend have 1 busa and 1 GsX1000 last nigth when I touch the 130 mph , when I was about 85 or 90 mph the GX was at my side and I was at full gas praying for more power an de GX he press the clutch an was only like broom , broom, broom, very relax and I was like a super racer with the face down an sleeping on the tank . hehehe then the GX left the cluth and do m&%(*$ f*#2^ wheely an left me like I was 0 mph , and the busa he saw the 1000, waaaaaaannn I say he pass me about 180mph. I look like a clown on a minicycle .....
What is this fascination with the 'busa?????? It's, quite literally, an overgrown katana. It is a sport tourer. The geometry of the 'busa is very relaxed in comparison to the gix line. If you put similar riders on track on a gix1k and a 'busa, the 'busa would get it's ass handed to it. OVERGROWN KATANA!!!

That's the area I'm from..AJ and I are not too far at all from that area (about 20 minutes). Let me know if you're going to make it up this way again
I've had an indicated 115ish so far, didnt really want to push it much more. Plus the front got a bit light and started weaving. The day I find an empty, completely clear road, smooth, no junctions, no cops, dead straight etc etc is the day I will see what the top end is on mine.
i could of sworn he had two , but after watching back to basics,.
Mhmm thats a bike id love with fairings :thumb:
Yeah, I'd ride that plastic bike :thumb:
I got mine up to about 105 -110 i wasnt paying too much atention to my speedometer. Ha Ha Ha...that's funny. Just Sunday morning I was sitting at the donut shop with my wife and kids. These two kids came in and one of them had one of those like -20 guage holes in his ears ( you know, the ones that look like you can stick a dinner plate into ). I just shook my head and told my wife that I knew I was getting old when I was sitting around clowning on what the kids were doing with themselves...and I'm only 26. Go figure. How do some of these kids plan on getting jobs looking like that?!? :dunno_white:
As far as how fast I've gone on the GS. Two weekends ago on my Rich Memorial Ride, my wife and I and a couple (literally) friends on thier GSX-R 1000 took a trip up to the mountains (about 300 miles round trip). On the way back down the mountain on one of our wonderfully flat long straight highways we are so well known for in New Mexico, wife in tow, I hit 110 indicated. My friend confirmed over 100 MPH indicated on his GSX-R. He was impressed. Of course he was killing me with his 125 MPH bursts on the first leg of the trip.
I really dont like Flesh Holes, or *tunnels* , i keep every one of mine in , all 15 , and im a Department Supervisor :thumb:
It's not only the piercings & that sort of shaZam!, which I don't understand. It's also the baggy pants, wearing caps the wrong way & generally dressing like you have NFI or self respect.

Oh no , i wear baggyish jeans, dont wear caps ., im not one of those EMO or retro kids ,
i have a shaved head etc ,
still pierced as tho lol
I hit 150 MPH\
No piercings or tattoos, I like them just not no me. had my toung do at one time, but it got in the way so I took it out.
chained to a corvette.
piercings that i had when I was in my early 20's tounge, lower lip, head of my whoo hooo. :o Should have painted it gold.
I have one ear pierced (left) with a very VERY small stud in it. I have one tatoo on my left arm (Pi Kappa Phi: My fraternity from college). I DO wear baggy pants, however they sit on my hips and I wear a belt (I don't understand letting the whole world see your undershorts, that's another observation I had of those kids at the donut shop). I will only occasionally wear a baseball cap backwards (when it's functionally more convienient than having it on forward.).
My son always tries to but his hat on backwards but I try to tell him he looks like an idiot but what do I know I'm old.
I do waer loose pants, always have.
No piercings though always thought they where for girls. Ecxept the toung I thought would do the trick but it was in the way. :icon_lol:
No tats becuase I like them on other people better.
I don't wear any jewelry either, Just jeans and T-shirt unless I'm at work. Then they make me wear shirt and tie. I fight it all the time. I forgot to wear a tie today and put on a band collier shirt.
i have 9 tats, 3 ear piercings, lip pierced, and nipples pierced. and im in the airforce. its kinda hard to hide all of it but as i see it its just customizing my body so its different then anyone else.
I have 2 in my eyebrow , 3 in my Lip , One in my toungue , and 9 ear piercings , and a dragon on my left pec , just above my nipple , plans for many many more :thumb:
i forgot one tat. i have one inside my lip. i always forget about that one
how rare ,what is it ? . and are u running a 120 on a gs front wheel? , isnt that a bit dangerous ?
it says respect. yeah im runnning a 120 why is that dangerous? the parts guy at the dealership back home told me thats what i should go with and he gave it to me at a disconted price about 4 years back and i just got it mounted about 8 months ago
i sware reading something saying that a 120 is squeezed onto a 3 inch rim ,
see i wanna run 120/80 , with the 160 i have on the back :thumb:
well i cant run a front fender. well i might be able to but it just looks like the bolts that hold it on would rub the tire. so i just didnt put the fender back on after i had the tire mounted.
Hey, is Scott Air Base in Ill. still active?
Yes it is ... it's right across the river from me and occasionally they have an Air Show :thumb:
Between 110 and 115 indicated...and 2 piercings in each ear
And Pandy's bike goes very very very fast as its getting pandied ... Must be noted that the going fast part does not hurt it one bit, its the pandying that immediately follows it that does all the damage  ...
Cool.
