now I know from what I have read that that engine is not a direct drop in, I know that the mounts need to be changed but what else would?

its 5 speed instead of 6 and 50hp at 7200 rpm

change to a GS head and you can rev it to 11000 rpm and get closer to 60 hp.The mounts is all.

You absolutely need to fit a GS head, else you have to fab up an exhaust ... its exhaust port is angled so the header will hit the frame.
I'd make motor mounts and cut off the T brace and make it bolt on like a Katana.
You may wanna wait till someone (dgyver - hint hint) gets all the kinks out ... but ... your call.
Cool.
Srinath.

dont worry, i just did an engine swap in my bike, it runs. I like it. I will wait until there is a bit more info, but I have an extra head from the other engine I have and im willing to start a project if I have another bike to ride

GR650's were only imported a couple years,so they are rare.I don't mind fabrication,some other don't either.

Srinath.Dgyver has lost his motivation,so I'm not sure it'll happen any time soon. The GR into a GS.

I think I'll make up some mounts ... so werase can weld it on the frame to be bought yet ...
BTW werase, I welded up a ear to the swingarm ... so I can run the stock B4 caliper with a flat bar for the brace or a round Aluminium rod ... or steel or SS 3/8th rod ... bent at 90 at both ends and threaded at both ends. Yup ... simple stuff being complicated by the srinath (SSB-CBS).
Cool.
