i went to home depot to get some cotter pins but they didn't have the right ones so i bought a 3/4" hitch pin clip. will that work jsut as well as the cotter pin? it seems kinda easy to get in and out...
Is it for the rear axle???
If so as long as the eye at the top doesn't slip through it can be loose, no big deal.
Zip tie its legs so it wont disappear if its loose ... I use it all the time.
Cool.
Srinath.
yeah its the rear wheel. i have a bunch of zip ties laying around so ill slap one on there. sweet deal, thanks guys :thumb:
I have been using them on my 97 for awhile. Put them on temporarly for road testing and never changed them. I use the locking hitch pins on my trackbikes.

Those things that work sort of like a safety pin? That's a thought.
I picked up an assortment of 100 cotter pins for less than two bucks at Harbor Freight, but they're still a pain, and if I ever had to change a tire on the road it would be nice to have something more re-usable.
I use those little snapping clip ring thingies...the ones with the springed loop and pin...I can't think of what they're called right now. I've used hitch pins before but they're not as pretty.
Cotter pins suck. Nuff said.

Uhhh... really tiny carabiners? Not getting an image...
nope nope...but I've played with them as well. They work in some places but not in others...I needed something universal.
I'm talking about these things...I found a lot of 100 of them on ebay, various sizes but all small, that fit all my axles and stuff.

Don't think I've ever seen those. Don't know what words I'd be using to search on e-bay.. they're almost like the old penannular broaches...

Yeah sorta like a safety pin. Here is a pic of what I use (sorry for the poor image quality).

Sell a few sets here, recoup your costs... you'll still have more than you'll ever need, for free...
unless u have tiny hands that pin looks like its way too big to fit in there... :dunno_white:
