I'm looking to get a camper/travel trailer. I need some opinons. Anybody have one? Anything to look for or stay away from? I don't want a pop-up, I want something with a shower seperate from the toilet, but other than that I don't really have any opinions. Anyone got anything to offer?? thanks a bunch
Get a Winnebago...you can do anything in a Winnebago...chicks dig the Winnebago.
you need to look at what your gonna use it for . we have an old camper and its works great ..has a toilet and a shower .. there right next to each other .. what type of truck do you have .. how much will it pull . having a 5th wheel ( hook up like the 18 wheelers ) is easyer to back up and pull around . do you want a weekend wairrior ( so you can haul your bike around to where you go ?) then have it set up so you drop the back door down push/ride your bike in and strap it down . the nice once have a wall between the storage back and the living area . the cheaper ones ( when i say cheaper i mean in price ) its all one big area .
gonna be a weekend thing, and not taking the bike....just for getaways when I want to get away from the 'real' world. would be hauling it with a ford f150.
They have trailers also, maybe it will give you an idea or you might see something you like

buying used will save you a ton of money, but often, there is a lot of work needed on old trailers.
I like trailers, but the added hassle drove me to lightweight backpacking... plus I like sleeping on the ground (wife hates it)
went tent camping with some people that had campers......don't want to be the one with a tent next time. :)

Please tell me you have pics of your tent w/ an AC unit hanging out of it :o
Thats awesome :thumb:
i would prefer a fifth wheel. but thats me . but if you get a travel trailer you have to make sure you get everything .. is your F-150 a V6 or a V8? you don't need one of them 33' long trailers .. there a #@%$# to pull and if you don't know how to back up very well they can be a pain . i think we had a 25' and it was just right... how many ppl are you gonna have in it at one time ? just you .. you and someone else .... you and a bunch of ppl... you should just go look around ... but make sure if you decide to get the trailer don't forget to get the "sway bars" they help keep the trailer from swaying side to side when the wind get a hold of it or you get passed by a big truck or you pass a big truck .. they make the world of a difference
My family has a toy hauler and I would definitely recommend one. But I see you're not taking your bike with you so that wouldn't really be needed.
I put a bid in yesterday on a 01 fleetwood pioneer 23ft. The F150 is a V6, but it shouldn't have problems towing this one. It's going to be me and 1 other person mainly with friends with their own campers coming to join if it's raining or we want to play cards or something, but not staying. I really like this one, hope I get it. If not I may have someone that will give me an 03 21ft. for $4500. So, I may get either of the 2 or if they both fall through neither....my options are open.
ok yea thats not bad .. but if the both fall though . then really . look in to a "toy haul" i call it a weekend worrier . but you may not think of hauling your bike now .. you never know when you might want to travel to the gap . or to the other side of the country to ride some good roads stay the night . have fun ... ect.
cool...i may look into the price of those. I saw one the other day at the dealership and it was awesome. Had 2 ramps that put the bikes into slideouts that slide inside, it was hard to explain, but awesome. But $4500 is my may to pay for this toy.
