Title: Vacation Ideas - help from forum members.
Post by: Jake D on July 11, 2007, 12:59:21 PM
I am wanting to plan a vacation for November sometime.  I would like to be on a beach with lots of night life, water sports, and good weather and great food.   Lots of nightlife is really important.

I have been to some places already and would like to try some new spots.  I prefer all-inclusive and would like to spend about $1000 to $1500 per person.

Places I have been and enjoyed:
Negril, Jamiaca
Cancun, Mexico
Myan Riviera, Mexico
Nassau, Bahamas
Paradise Island, Bahamas
Harbor Island, Bahamas
Key West, Florida

Places I'd like to go:
Aruba
Acapulco
Los Cabos
Costa Rica
Puerto Rico
Hawaii (but this is likely not in my price range)

Non-beach spots I'd like to hit:
Tokyo
BA

Let me know if you have had personal experiences with places I haven't been but you think I would like to go.

Thanks guys!!!!

Jake D

Edit: In your responses, please include the name of the resort you stayed at, approximate costs, night life review, activities and near by historical sights.  Thanks!!!

only place i've been that meet your criteria (besides KW which you've been) is South Beach Miami.  The night life there is too much for me... or maybe i'm getting old too.  haha  Fort Lauderdale is nice, but tends to be expensive too.  I've also been to the gulf side of south fl, and Marco Island and Naples is really nice, but the night life probably isn't as ample.

Want to go to the baja of Mexico, cabo, and some of those places someday, Cuba too, if dude would die already :icon_rolleyes:

Once he dies, it will be more of the same.  His brother will take over and it will be status quo.
Flying to Jamaica takes an hour or two longer because you have to fly around Cuban airspace!   :icon_lol:
I imagine Aruba will be the same issue too.

I am leaning toward Acapulco.

yeah i figure your right, but i'm trying to think positive, and its brother looks as old as him.

Aruba tourism is still off due to that whole missing Mountian Brook girl ordeal.  They (Aruba) have been running ads on TV in Alabama (and the south) to stimulate tourism.  Might be some good rates because of that.

Good luck. :thumb:

I just got back from a week in the most secluded place I know of, the Fort Morgan Peninsula of the bama coast... took this one, I love the beach.

Ohh, Barbados.  I need to look that up.  I don't know much about it but it sounds P-diddy nice.

Has anyone been to St. Maarten (Dutch or French side)?

Damn.  That looks pretty nice.  It isn't Harbor Island, but it is pretty sweet!
