Hi guys,
I'm currently amassing the bits and bobs to nake-ify my gs500f and I just want to check that I've been given the right fork brackets by the wreckers yard - mine seem too large. They measure 210mm from hoop to hoop - could someone with a 500e measure theirs and tell me if they are the same size? :thumb:
Also mine are stamped 27E and 27F respectively, if that helps.
I can measure mine a little later, maybe... but here's what they should look like:

This is what the ones that I've been given look like. Slightly different to yours, are they correct?

if you are putting your fairing back on that one should be fine, if you are looking for an E model bracket i have one extra

The ones in the pic aren't mine, I just cribbed it off of eBay; nonetheless, they match the parts diagrams.
I don't see how the ones you show could be correct. As far as I know, that part never changed for the "E" series (or the K1-K2).
I measured mine. No great precision, but the hoop-to-hoop looks to be 155 mm.
Someone else may want to chime in, but I think you have the wrong part, sorry to say.
Philward, those look to be too long between the hoops.
Where are you located?
BeSafe.
Thanks for all the quick responses. I have gone back and managed to come away with the correct brackets - funnily enough these ones have 'GS500' penned on the side so it makes the mix-up even more tedious! :cookoo: ;)
