Title: My little ride
Post by: thatguy1025 on July 13, 2007, 11:44:41 AM
Well for starters Id like to applogise to everyone in this fourm. I am deployed to honduras and decided to take a little trip around the country for my mid tour leave.

So I went back to Alabama and preped my 06 GS 500, you know new tires and stuff and started out........ Well I made it as far as Phoenix, AZ and stoped at the kawasaki dealership to pick up some new gloves that I destoryed in Texas.

And walked out with a new 07 650 (And some new gloves)

Well after a little ride back to my home town I Rode back to Phoenix (in the 108 degree heat) for the initail service.

Right now im in Las Vegas, NV for a little pit stop with my family then Sat im off to San Jose, CA then to Canada, and back.

Like i said it kind of makes me sad to get rid of my 500 but I just couldnt pass up this deal.

Well if I dont get booed off this fourm ill keep everone updated on my trip

Nick

+1   Kawi did an awesome job designing that thing.  Nice bike,  I like it better in the red/black paint, though.

Excellent choice man. Your route sounds like a blast also. If you're going through the mojave desert, make sure you stop and take pictures. Lots of pictures. My wife and I have stood in that exact spot from the BOULDER dam (the locals will tell you it's boulder, not hoover ;)

Fantastic adventure you're on. Enjoy every minute of it.  :thumb:

Nice bike, nice ride, great colour....having recently bought a new 650 in-line four (Suz bandit) it's awesome ain't it.

GS still has a special place though.

I think that kawi calls it Candy Plasma Blue. Its an awsome shade that has a lot of depth.

I've been looking at these things for over a year ... the lady at the dealership kept trying to push me into a ZZR for about the same price (but she was offering the 650r $800 under list price also) .
This is gonna sound stupid , but one of my fave things was the sidemounted shock that was color-matched hehe . I was gonna stop in about a month ago and maybe run a credit app and the shop was gone . I guess she was trying to move the stuff before going out of business  :dunno_white:

Great bike I want to ride one, but the freaking kawi dealer around here won't let test rides unless it's a used model .

Best color combo I have seen is the Canadian one champange and red or burgandy

OMG!
NOT EVEN A SUZUKI!
YOU SUCK!
HOW TERRIBLE!   :flipoff:

Now that I got the kidding out the way.
WHOA!
That's a DEAD SEXY machine!
Very nice!
CONGRATULATIONS!  :icon_mrgreen:

Is it very comfortable on the open road and such?
I think when I eventually step up from my little GS that I'll be getting a SV650 or a DL650 V-Strom.
Really nice bike ya got there!  :thumb:

What the %$#@ are US troops doing in Honduras now?  It's bad enough that we're all over Europe and the Middle East!
