I won my first rifle event at our monthly club shoot on the weekend. I shot a 80/100 beating my brother-in-law by one point.
The event was shot over 100 yards & was shot with traditional rifles, patched round ball muzzle loaders, with open sights.
What made this win special, is that it is a memorial shoot in memory of my brother-in-laws father, who died in a motorcycle accident in 2002. The July shoot was the last shoot he competed in & won, and so it is now a memorial shoot for him.
So now I have to get organised for for the state titles which are on in early September. :2guns:
congrats!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

congrats man :thumb: Sounds like some great shooting. Was it from bags or standing?
I've just got to the point I can hit soda cans at 100 yards with open sights with my 223 (about 50% hits anyway). It takes a lot of practice. I need to work on my breathing too.
congrats BZ
that is something you will cherish for the rest of your life...unless your brother-in-law kicks your butt next year....kick his a$$ next year also
all I got this weekend while shooting was scratchin rights.....I HATE FRIGGIN POISON IVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my ankles are shreaded :o
Congrats Bubba.
I miss long range rifle shooting. Guess I need to go pick up an old surplus enfield .303 again. Man that was a fun old rifle to just go plink with.
One of these day's I intend to build another .308 tack driver. Doubt I could shoot worth a crap anymore except from prone positon with a bipod. Arthiritis is a Buddha Loves You.
Thanks guys.
The shoot was a cross sticks shoot. You have two sticks set up to make a X, then sit behind it & rest the rifle barrel on the cross sticks.
ATM my brother-in-law is the State & National class 2 muzzle loading champion, he was happy for me to win & has encouraged me all the time with my shooting. :thumb:
Class 2 muzzle loaders, use a patched round ball & have open sights.
Nice, I use to be pretty good at rifles when i was young. still pretty decent though
Are you better at brewing or shooting?
Neither, he's better at getting drunk and humping dead animals :thumb:
Man, anyone can do that.
Yeah, but Bubba's a pro
Actually I'm better at shooting cause I don't brew any more.
Are we the only three people still online this late?
At least Bubba has an excuse since he's on the other side of the world.
I have a severely skewed sleep schedule due to side-effects of narcotics prescribed post op.
Well I've just gotten home from work & I'm about to take the dog for a walk.
