My 1996 GS is kicking my a$$. I have had oil blow by in my left cylinder and have replaced the valve seals, no help. So my mechanic said he saw a crack in one of the valve guides when he was putting the valves back in. I next took it apart again and was going to replace the valve guides. My machinist said the crack was only at the end and that the head is warped in the middle where the timing chain runs through. Does anyone know a fix for this without shaving it all down and having to adjust everything?
Also, was is the valve guide hole size? I need to ream them out 13mm, but my old machinist doesn't have the tools and is on vacation. I am trying to see if I can get someone else to do it for me, but need the sizes for an estimate.
Thanks
Dan

How much warpage on the head? Max is 0.10 mm
Oh yeah...according to Haynes:
Intake and exhaust valve guide bore diameter is 7 to 7.015 mm
I would measure the valve in 3 places and then have new guides installed.have the new guides reamed just enough to bring them into the tight side of the tolerances.Check your manual. You do have one don't ya?Mines not close as I am in Kentucky to pick up my kids.
