Title: Kat Shock Question
Post by: darb85 on July 17, 2007, 04:46:45 PM
I just installed my Kat shock and I put it in set at 3 up top and 4 on the bottom, is this good as a starting point?  Should I increase it when riding with a 2up? to what?  Oh and I weight 170 if that matters.

There isn't going to be a specific answer...just generalizations.  Start where you have it and see how you like it.  If there's something you don't like, come back and describe it.  It's easier to diagnose a problem than to jump directly over the problem/diagnosis straight to the solution.

My Katana shock is rusted a bit and i can't adjust it. Tried hammering it from side with hammer and screwdriver. It is now on setting 6, and i'm 145 lbs. It's a bit too harsh now.

I just recieved a rear shock from a hayabusa. Can't wait to put it on! It will probably be longer and a hell of a lot stiffer but I am cool with that. 194cm and 120kg so I need all the help I can get!

Anakist...when you get it in measure it eye to eye.  I need something that is about 12.5" eye to eye to  retrofit to my CX and I've been looking for a spiffy looking piggyback type shock.  Probably going to end up going with a couple CR250 Showa bits, though, haha...
