Title: Is it the battery?
Post by: brown.rw on July 22, 2007, 02:39:23 PM
Ok,

So i bought a 2002 GS three weeks ago. Unfortunately, I had to leave town for three weeks. I filled the tank and put the bike in storage. I got back today and went to ride it a little tonight and it will not start.

It sounds like it is going to turnover but then just starts a clicking noise.

Is this the battery? a flooded carb? or does anyone have any other ideas I can try?

Thanks, Richard

Thanks...

I do not own a charger. Where is the best place to go get it charged or buy a charger?

You can buy one at Walmart  :thumb: Or if you have jumper cables you can use your car battery, just leave the car turned off  :thumb:

I would highly recommend the charger route, you may need it again anyway  :thumb:

Better yet get a Battery Tender it keeps your battery topped off all the time, shuts on and off as needed. Keeps my battery in my old GS550ES Baby Katana ready to go all the time.

Yup, a Battery Tender is the best.

I own four and keep all the bikes plugged in.

My BMW battery went 5 years.  :thumb:
