Title: Will a 98-02 Katana Front Wheel fit on my GS with stock GS forks???
Post by: slowinthestraights on July 23, 2007, 01:02:56 AM
Turns out my front wheel is Bent..

I already have a 98-02 katana rear wheel, and would like to get a 98-02 katana front wheel to match. Obviously I would only have one side rotor on.. does the GS one bolt up?

And mainly.. I know the wheel is 1/2" wider, but is the hub itself any wider?

If anyone knows that would be great.. otherwise I suppose I'll just have to get one and see for myself.. worst comes to worst I'm sure it would fit with some gixxer forks or something..

Thanks

As a rule no , the axle is different , but with money ,

Simple answer is no , also it has a 3.5 inch rim , not a 3 inch

Actually the 89-97 and 98-02 Kats use the same axle. It changed in 03 but is still the same OD.

Here is a post in the For Sale forum with a comment about have a 98-02 front wheel on GS forks....

Any more input?

Jay, doesnt matter one bit that its a 3.5 vs a 3" wide wheel, what matters is the hub.

And please, do not tell me it wont fit, if you don't know.  8)

From searching the forum a while ago , i was certain you couldnt ,hence all the rear wheel swops . but one of the downsides is that you had to use a wheel that didnt match ,
Well i stand corrected , Live and Learn  :thumb:
