So I'm back in the real world after 10 days in the Adirondacks.
300 + miles from Owls Head NY to Allendale NJ.
Got lucky with the weather.
Only rained the last 1 1/2 hours at the end of the trip.
Was prepared to ride in the rain the full distance.
Took the GS on some nice roads during the past week.
Great bike for that type of thing.
Also went on some dirt roads and it's pretty good at that also if ground clearance is not an issue.
Being low to the ground helps.
I felt more comfortable with the GS than with my V-Strom.
Have my KLR250 up there also and it really kicks ass on those dirt and gravel roads.
Lighter is better. I'll take a lighter bike over a more powerful bike any day when things
get muddy and slippery.
Going back on Thurday night with the same 300+ miles in reverse.
At 25,000+ miles I think nothing of just getting on it and going.
At 6,500 rpm I'm going an indicated 80 mph.
Can to that all day without a problem.
Still my favorite bike.
