Title: Doing the Livestrong Ride
Post by: CasiUSA on July 24, 2007, 09:16:03 AM
Hey all, I will be participating in the Lance Armstrong LiveSTRONG Ride this year in Philadelphia on August 26th. The ride is an intense 70 Mile mixed altitude one day bicycle ride to benefit the LiveSTRONG foundation's battle against cancer. I have been doing a lot of riding to train for this event.
The Organization focuses on an agenda surrounding:
- Prevention
- Access to screening and care
- Improvement of the quality of life for cancer survivors
- Investment in research
It's a fund-raiser, and my goal is to raise a minimum of $1000 towards the battle against cancer.

I did 'Ride for the Roses' out in Austin in '04.  It was incredible.  Good luck.  I'll try to make a donation later today :thumb:

BTW: If you have free time.  Organize a smaller charity ride. Local busnisses will give you free product to support it. ( i.e. clif bars, gatorade, etc...)
I did that in '04 and just charged whatever they felt like donating.   I had just under 2k in donations from that :thumb:
