Quick question, I have a tiny hole in one of the hoses under my left carb, this hose is the small one (gray) coming from the bottom of the carb then going to a T to the right carb, the middle hose goes to the canister, I believe the hose holds fuel vapor. Ron Ayers sells the hose for $10.35. I assume I can just pull the hose and simply replace it. But I am learning not to assume still. If there is anything I should look out for just let me know. Thanks
You should be able to just remove the hose to replace it, however, I have had mine hold fast to the spigot and have pulled out the spigot! I can put back the spigot, but it rattles out every day. I suggest cutting it off the spigot, since you're going to install a new one anyway.
How big is the hole?
If it's not too big (i.e.: the size of a pinhole), or it is a very samll flap in the upward direction (meaning: a cut with the flow, or in the direction of flow), then you might just leave it. My reasoning is that it is mostly just vapor that is directed down those tubes (but, sometimes there is fuel overflow in a tipover), and you can save yourself $10.
Thanks Scratch, the hole is pretty small just where the tubing bends, I know 10 bucks is alot of dough for alittle tube, if it doesnt affect the performance then I wont be in a hurry to fix it. I recently got the bike and have been obsessing about everything on it.
That was the other thing I wanted to include, but forgot! It doesn't affect performance in any way.
