Title: New GS Owner from Socal
Post by: Tawcoma26 on July 25, 2007, 12:09:27 AM
Hey everyone, I just picked up a 91 GS a few days ago. I'm from Los Angeles, and I've been riding for 3 years.  I've just ran into problems already with the bike and I'm hoping I can get some help. The bike was actually sitting for 7 years, it has 5000 original miles and everything looks great. I did everything it said to do on wikipedia on how to get a bike running thats been sitting. I removed the carbs and took em apart and cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. I left them in a bucket of gasoline so it can get any thing i missed. I got new spark plugs, new fuel lines and new gas(drained the old stuff out) and when I put it all back together, it was still bogging. If you tried to rev it up, it would die. When at one point I was able to ride it, the bike would bog really bad until I could get the revs up. Please help me, I know these bikes are awesome and I really want this to work. Thanks in advance for for everything, And I cant wait for the replys.
