Just went down to Cycle World (west) on Dundas and found out they are going out of business. Both stores are closed as of last Monday. I spoke to someone (we will leave it at "someone" to protect identity!!) and was told they are apparently planning a liquidation sale for Wednesday (Aug 1). Might be worth passing by, not exactly sure of the reason they folded, I got the "financial backlog" line, if I find out anything more I will post it.
What a shock I got when I found locked doors and a parking lot full of bikers looking like lost puppies. I thought with the closing of McBride they would be doing well, other than the factory dealerships it seems there are no big bike shops in Toronto. Lots of little ones but nothing like Cycle World.
Good news for my GS though, was headed down to talk about a Z750 they have.... or had.
yeah, i've been there once and it was packed.... so weird to think they went out of business. curious on what kind of deals there will be.
Well I know I will be passing by on Wednesday...heck...I will probably make the ride past Cycle World as part of my way home all next week now.
:(
Currently, the shop I take my Bike to when I need work done is Cyclewerx at Bloor/Keele-ParkSide (Keele subway stn). Actually, it is ust E. of Keele next to the Midas. Nice guys but I imagine with the big players dropping out of the game they could get some backlog.
*shrug*
Shoot, it just works out that I wont be around on Mon-Wed that week, if someone does go and they have a sale perhaps you could post it here, I'll check in and make the trip back if there are some good deals.
I have only been to the east store and I found them to be a bunch of unhelpful pricks. They have a lot of mixed reviews over on www.gtamotorcycles.com
I didnt know that both stores were going under though I thought it was just the west store.
Sale was a waste of time.
