i'm working parts for Marin BMW Motorcycles. I used to work for BMW but not in motorcycles. i figured combining my love of bmws with my love of motorcycles would be a good idea. and i get discounts on gear so i guess i'm gettin a shoei instead of a scorpion! well, maybe... i have been itching for a new bike lately. but i'm not going to finance.
downside- i'll be working 8:30am to 2:30 pm tues, thurs, fri. at bmw, 3pm-11:30/midnight mon, tues, fri, sat at the cafe. i hate growing up...
Good luck! I'll stop by next week, so have a F800 ready for me :)
I hear ya, growing up is a Buddha Loves You. I guess I shouldn't of waiting until my mid 20's.

Tell me about it, i work full time on my girlfriends' dad's farm and at the moment its the harvest so im working 8am till 2-4am everyday. Any day it rains and i can't combine im doing shifts at a local bar 6pm till midnight. I am knackard. Enjoy my farm job though, it doesn't feel like a job, lots of commoradary and its all with people i consider great friends.
Incidentaly who else is harvesting at the moment?
And another opinion - What do you guys think of the F800? Im considering upgrading to one soon, i really want a do it all bike, sporty but capable of touring with tonnes of torque instead of sitting in the high revs for power. I also looked at the F650 Dakar. Whats the opinions on that?
personally, I love the F800s/st I went over the the motorcycle dealership and took a look at them and I was really impressed they are very comfortable and got to take the f800s out for a ride. It was pure bliss.
the 2 bikes I have been looking to upgrade to are the f800 and the vfr. The saleswomen at the bmw motorcycle shop told me that they do need service every 6000 mile, but they are strong engines.
if I go to fun bike center (motorcycle dealership that doesnt sell bmw's) they just insult the bike when i ask them about it and say that "if you want to be at the shop everyday with it paying for just a name" I am going to buy a new bike on nov. 3rd so Ill keep you guys updated with my research

Congrats on the new, second job! I need to get one of those so that I can afford the toys I want!
Kasumi: I'm harvesting my own squashzillas and tomatoes...does that count? :icon_mrgreen:
Hehe, growing anything or harvesting it? Ye a good ol' farmer in my book!
Working 2 jobs sucks. I have been doing it for the past 4+ years, 7 days a week. Also I have been taking classes at night about every other semester, updating my education. It will be changing this coming year.
you guys all work too hard
i had two jobs all through high school, so i've done it before, i just haven't in a while.
the f800 is a great bike, at the end of august i'll be allowed to take bikes home over night so i can explain what i think of them to customers. personally i prefer the look of the s over the st, but i don't like fairings to begin with and you can put the taller windscreen from the st on the s so you get just as much protection from the front.
the f650 is actually discontinued. they JUST stopped making them so you can still get them, but pretty soon they'll be "collectors" items. they pulled the 650 because they're doing the x bikes and they're doing a f450 but from what i've heard the f650's are great bikes.
i'm just getting into bmw bikes, i've always owned bmw cars, but if any of you ever have any questions, let me know and i'll try to find out the answers.
and yes, you have more frequent services, but you also have a bike that lasts FAR beyond the warranty and is dependable as all get out.
We want pics when ya' get settled in!!! :kiss3: :icon_mrgreen:
Hmmm...B.A.G.S. ride to bug ledfingers..... ;)

I worked 2 jobs trough the week and 1 on the weekend for 5 years. Now I only work 1 part time job, thanks to an injury.
yeah, i took two jobs so i could get weekends off to work with my business partner starting our own production company and website. and what do you want pictures of? the parts counter?
thats my work.
i'll take pictures of bikes i bring home and do a full writeup on them, but there isn't much to explicate photgraphically in reguards to a parts counter.
Hehe i eagerly await a good writeup of the f800s. I too prefer the S model to the ST - less fairings but still cool and different looking. Also let me know what your customers who have them think of them any problems etc... Its looking like the bike im going for so any information would be super when you get to do a writeup.
