Me and a buddy have decided to head out HWY84 to Alice's at skyline, up to Loma Mar via pescadero road to the coast.
Then up to San GRegorio, back over 84 to skyline, then down through big basin and out on hwy9.
Who's comin?
here's the route.

I'm down. El Camino Real (82) is not that exciting or fast, but I live along the route so we could stop at my place for a break, if anyone wants. I'd say taking 280 is probably more fun, or even using Hwy 1 as the connector. Stop on the beach perhaps? Coming back up a road like Bonny Doon would be fun....
I now live in Florida. I am also in a state of jealousy. Neither one is fun.
Enjoy the awesome ride and views. I ache for highway 1 everyday. Ride (safe) like you won't see tomorrow and soak it in. If you ever make it up to Fort Bragg check out the Headlands Coffee House http://www.google.com/maps?num=50&hl=en&safe=off&q=Headlands+Coffeehouse&fb=1&cid=0,0,13929161583779820182&near=Fort+Bragg,+CA&cd=1&ie=UTF8&ll=39.445813,-123.805468&spn=0.004051,0.007896&t=h&z=17&iwloc=A&om=1 (http://www.google.com/maps?num=50&hl=en&safe=off&q=Headlands+Coffeehouse&fb=1&cid=0,0,13929161583779820182&near=Fort+Bragg,+CA&cd=1&ie=UTF8&ll=39.445813,-123.805468&spn=0.004051,0.007896&t=h&z=17&iwloc=A&om=1) and enjoy the music.
Don't miss the sunset on Glass Beach (the locals will point you to it) either, it's cool man.
Enjoy the rides. :thumb:

Oh I know el camino isnt fun. Its just that my pal lives on el camino and shoreline. So the map I made was for his benefit. I'll be staying on his couch that friday night, and thats just the most direct route to the good roads.
I lived down there until I was 21, but I've never heard of bonny doon. Where is that?
Oh, okay, I see. DSo you mean something more like this:

At what time do kickstands go up? :icon_mrgreen:
I figure around 11:00am maybe in mountain view.
Oh YAY!! Not 0-darkthirty... :thumb: :icon_mrgreen:
Yup! There's no Skyline on that route, but I don't think it's a bad thing. Also, the later start means we might be able to convince a few people from up in SF, East bay, etc. to come for the ride.
Anyway, sounds good to me. Also, I live at El Camino and 85, a few blocks down from your buddy.
DAMNIT!
i don't have the money to renew my insurance yet so i can't renew the registration which means i can't ride. why do you guys have to do this NOW?
I have a few things I want to do to my bike. If I'm done by then I'll come.

:flipoff:
You're just jealous because you *almost* have a 2002.
Two things...first...to the fella who asked why that day....I decided to ride that day because my wife is out of town that day. So I have a free moment.
Second, we can either have breakfast and head out, or punctuate the ride with a bit of lunch someplace along the way--mebbe along the coast somewhere.
There's a great little place to eat on the left of Cabrillo Hwy right next to the gas station just past Gazo's Creek.
I don't know if I'll be able to go, I forgot to check with the wife if we already have plans that day. I will try to remember to ask her tonight.
I confirmed that I can't go, sorry.

Sorry, I was mean. I know that what you really have to do is paint your '02 a better color, like, say, dark blue from an '01. But you should be ready by next weekend.

watch it buddy... I know where you park. ;)
So, its this coming Saturday. Who's coming?
You guys might want to cut Pescadero out of the route. About halfway down Pescadero they are doing roadwork, and the entire road is covered in loose gravel. I don't know how long it goes for, but I turned around because it's basically unrideable.
I might be game, but I probably won't know untill Thursday or Friday if I'm free.
I drove that way last weekend. Its only a short amount of work.
I'm in.
Alrighty all, lets meet up at dana st coffee house on dana st in downtown mt view.

Damn, I'm jealous! Pics pics pics!!! Can't wait until tomorrow morning...
So this commemorates the first annual GS-less BAGS ride. Between some issues on my side and jazerr laying down his bike (don't worry, he's fine), we only had 2 riders: my friend David on his CBR600 F4i and Brett on his gorgeous yellow Daytona 675. I was planning to go but didn't want to ride around on a bike that couldn't idle below 3k. I can only assume they're finished with the ride by now, so hopefully Brett will post up the route and such.

Yeah, there wasn't a good GS showing today, but it doesn't sound like things are that bad for either of you two. Hopefully you have your bikes working fine shortly.
David and I didn't go on too long of a ride due to our late start. We went up Page Mill and then up Skyline to STP. We took 84 down to Stage, turned around, and took 84 back up and over to 280. David went home at this point. I didn't want to take the freeway home, so I went up 84, down Skyline, and then down the frontside of 9. All in all a good day of riding.
Yeah, Ceek and I were planning on going, too, but couldn't make it for personal reasons. So sorry to hear about jazerr's bike problem...and sanjay's bike problem....and so sorry to have missed seeing brett's beautiful new bike.   Perhaps we can have more B.A.G.S. in our next BAGS-less ride. ;)
Yeah got it all put back together. Not so bad. My knees ache pretty good though!!!
Well geez, that's terrible. Glad you're mostly okay though.
