Title: clip on handlebars
Post by: speeddemon190 on July 26, 2007, 07:54:42 PM
hey i was just wondering if anyone attatched their clip on bars using the second method of the Wiki which is,

The second method is to remove the top plate that has the normal handlebar clamps and lower the forks slightly, then place the clip ons directly above the top triple clamp.

i wsa just wondeirng if it interferred with the gauges and how they are installed. if i do it this way is there anything else i need to consider before installing? i believe all the cables will reach since i am going lower

If you remove the top plate a new gauge panel will have to be fabricated. Some people leave the plate and slide the forks up and mount the clip ons over the top plate.

so i take of the top plate, compress the forks and stick the clip ons ontop of the top plate? this  sounds better than any of the other methods unless there is a sweet way to fabricate a new way of mouthing the gauges.

heres another question, can you put digital gauges on the gs say like from a r6 or something

Member airbrush put the clipons above the top triple clamp. You might try sending him a PM or searching for a picture.
