Title: 1/4 mile times
Post by: 04gs on July 26, 2007, 10:03:10 PM
I have owned my 04 gs since 05 and love, yeah it's not the fastest bike, but is fun to ride, i took it to gateway international raceway last night and let'er rip down the quarter

now i am a little disappointed in my self especially in the launch but there is def. room to improve, and my jetting is slightly fat in the mid range, probably 1 to many shims under the needle

2.111 60 foot

14.401 1/4 mile

90.08 1/4 mph

i was nervous and only got to run the bike once, but i know i should be able to pull a 1.88 60 and drop the time down to a 14.0 possibly also working on the jetting a little will help broaden the power band.

i would be nice to know if anyone else has run their gs

Cycle World did a 14.5 @ 90.2 quarter on the 04 GS.

A Busa is best delt with in the twisties and not on the drag strip.

With light mods and gearing changes you can get into the 12's.. I hit 12.99x last time, took me all day but I damn near nailed the tree so it helped.  You'll still get whooped on by EVERYTHING else but a sub 13 sec pass is pretty fun to do  :thumb:

I had my devilbikes pipe, jets and pods and taller gearing.  My 60 ft wasn't great but since I could run out the gears longer without having to shift my top end made up for it.  I'd have to dig out the slips from my box with all the ones I got from my car, but I was right around the 103-104 range.
