Title: Parts ???
Post by: sprint_9 on August 03, 2003, 09:01:15 PM
I recently laid over my bike and went looking for parts on bikebandit.com. I have a 93 GS and everything you type in for parts numbers comes up as a discontinued part. You can move up years and it will work, but what are we supposed to do if we have a black engine and the new models have silver ones, that doesnt match very good. Turns out I only need the logo that goes over the ignition cover will a newer one match up on a older bike? Any Ideas of what a guy would do if he need parts for and older GS?

I just ordered the logos from bike bandit for my cases on each side. I tried a part number at first becasue it looked to me like 68233-01000 but I found out it was 68233-01d00 and that brought up the logo. Don't know if that will help you. Good luck!

My bike is a 93 with the black engine. After the logo pulls up, he suzuki part # is 516815-001

If all else fails, you can e-mail them this and get the correct ones.

Good luck!

All the engine case logos are black.
Even on the silver motors.
They retail for about $19.99 from the dealer. You should be able to get it ceaper from Bikebandit.
The markup is significant.
I get cost + 20% and it cost me $7.00 for one.
Good thing I have the sponsorship deal. Saved hundreds on bearings and such.

factor in the shipping costs too vs. the sales tax and your time to go get it locally...

Wow thats what it was, I thought it was 38233-01000 too, but it is 38233-01D00. Cool they even have the black ignition cover, sweet. The letters on that thing arent very clear at all. Thanks for the awesome tip Jango and others.
