I was taking a few curves at higher than recommended speeds a little while ago, and felt something I have never felt before. I have felt my pegs drag, and that's no big deal, but this wasn't it. It felt different.

Anybody else experience this with the Jardine setup?
I looked at the back of the bike, and because the mid pipe is shorter than I would like it to be, the pipe will touch down before the peg will now.
I do not like this at all. :mad:

Learn to hang off. Then you won't drag hard parts any more.

For the record, I was taking what is known as the "loop."
It's a set of on and off ramps here in Kitchener that is absolutely PERFECT to ride hard on.
The ramps are always clean, and usually free of any traffic.
It's a God send of a set of highway ramps. :thumb:
Hang off more. When you think you are hanging off enough, hang off a little more. Easier said than done.
Stay low, stay tucked into the bike. Pretend there is a 6" shoelace tied between your jacket zipper (your neck/sternum) and the steering stem nut.
Believe me when I say I cannot hang off any further than I already do. I am 6' 1", and when I am banked over to the right, my left foot is barely touching the peg. My left knee is almost on top of the tank. I have tried humping the tank like you described, and it makes no difference, really.
I know how to hang off the bike - I've been taught by some pretty good local racers.
But I tend to be a little over aggressive, and the GS isn't exactly the right tool for the job - it's a small bike with a capable, if not completely race ready chassis. And no, I won't get a new rear shock because the bike really isn't worth the money to throw into it.
I've never had this problem before with the stock exhaust...but I will NOT go back.

Well ur sig has quite a few mods on it ,arnt kat shocks over there 10 to a penny? sorta speak
my shock cost around 460 bucks ,but i got it cheap , and the progressive kat springs arnt cheap , but then im trying to make sure i dont get joke insurance
my bike is gonna be insured for 2500 pounds ,or 5 k Us , with Third party, fire and theft , for 333 pounds a year

Well, it is a full-size can versus the old Yosh or V&Hs, so I'll give you that.
I'm 6'6" and was hanging with B-class riders at Willow Springs IR here in California, and wasn't dragging anything. Not doubting your speed or your technique, but something isn't right, as you know, by your posting of this topic.

Uh... it was worth a $350 exhaust, but not a $35 shock?
It was cheaper than a stock exhaust. I cracked the stocker in a very mild drop.

True enough.
I want to revisit my technique; but I also have, in the mean time, emailed Jardine to see if maybe they can fab up a longer mid pipe to extend the height of the pipe.
