I was hoping to move from "lurker" :o to OWNER :icon_mrgreen:, but now the hospital sent me the bill for hand surgery from APRIL, the insurance company hasn't paid yet, $11,100 (for two hour surgery- we are in the WRONG business :icon_rolleyes:)
So I still don't get my air-cooled, light weight, simple, economical, Suzook GS.        Another stupid delay.
GOOD GOD!!! what'd they do to your hand??? I had to have two surgeries, one to put the pins in and another to yank em out cause my bone grew too fast and combined it was only 6k :cookoo:
universal health care should be available here. pretty bad when cuba has a better hc system than we do
Id get that for free , finally a perk of the uk :)
yeah, well here in the USA you can slaughter a coven of nuns and walk because the prosecutor filed the wrong motion :flipoff: :2guns:

My friends dad had a sex change on the Nhs........
And there's the flaw........Why the f%$k should my taxes go towards some moron getting his duck snipped off :cookoo: :cookoo: unless it's some sesual predator,........
He/ She is just mad
SPC terry: surgery was to remove scar tissue from joint of little finger. Yup $11,100 and I have to pay, else I will get bad credit until the insurance morons straighten it all out..... Too bad my finger still doesn't work.                At least I can put it on Discover Card temporarily and get about 1/2% refund.
AND ANOTHER CASE FOR THE GS500F and REAR CHAIN DRIVE: I removed the rear tire from my Concours (slow leak in tire) and decided to remove entire rear suspension- 25,000 miles and never been greased- Well, the stupid "pumpkin" weighs about 20 lbs. itselfl let alone all the linkages, spring etc. :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes:
Jeez, I bet the rear suspension + tire weighs over 120 lb. Dead weight, it's a wonder the poor thing handles at all! I hear chains last 20,000+ miles these days.
Oh Well. :icon_confused: :icon_confused: :icon_confused: :icon_confused: :icon_confused: :icon_confused:
I'd be happy to still have a hand and survived anesthesia. <shrug>

With the amount of money that we spend wanking around in Iraq, we could BUY every American private insurance probably. (This includes ancillary costs of Iraq, not just military budget.)

Know whats really awesome...
WE PAY FOR IRAQIS THAT DONT HAVE HEALTH CARE.. YEP.. THE MILITARY DOCTORS WILL TREAT THEM... FREE OF CHARGE
GOOOOO AMERICA!
???
Also ... here in PA we have free health care.. if you are poor and dont want to work you get free prescriptions, free medical, free dental and more... I paid about $4,000 to have 4 teeth crowned and a friend of mine who hasnt worked in years (for no reason) got over $20,000 of dental work .. FREE! even gets his prescriptions for $1.. Yep.. $1
I have prescription coverage and have to pay $20 ??? Our health care system is just plain stupid. :thumb:
Mike: Call who you have to call at the hospital to stay out of collections, but I would NOT pay that bill. Call the insurance company and MAKE them pay. Any amount of time you have to spend on the phone is worth it. They're gonna try to weasel out of paying by making it tough for you, but you can make it tough for them. There's a point they'll take care of you just to you get off the phone. Get a lawyer and have them draft up some threatening letter.
Interest on your Discover card will run you $2k/yr until you can pay it off. That's nuts. And once the bill's paid, the hospital won't be interested in helping you get the insurance to pay for it. And the insurance company will be slower than ever.
If you must pay with your credit card, pay with another one and do a balance transfer. Balance transfer APRs are lower than purchase APRs, that will save a ton of money. If you don't have another card that will swing it, call them up and ask for the balance transfer rate (or better) because they should feel sorry for you. If you talk to the manager's manager, they can do stuff like that.
The hospital might have a interest-free payment plan. Ask about that. That will keep the cash in your pocket while you're fighting the insurance company.
But whatever you do, don't roll over and take it. You've got to keep fighting or you'll get hosed.
Yeah, go to the finance office at the hospital and explain things. They can sometimes help with gettting insurance to pay. Also, they can file a lien on your insurance payments that wont affect your credit. It just establishes their entitlement to their share of your insurance payment.
This just in: Insurance company is "negotiating" with the Hospital.
And you are right- NOT to pay the bill, once insurance pays it, I would have a hell of a time getting it back!
The waiting game....... :bs:
Once this crap is done, I will be at a Suzook dealer!
(Oh yeah, regarding Discover, I would use it, then pay off the next month, a lot of money but I could do it temorarily. BUT I won't- see second sentence.
Thanks to all of you. This is an interesting and useful and fun forum. Sort of like the GS500, I hope! :)
