Title: slip-on question
Post by: mach1 on July 30, 2007, 04:47:08 PM
1. What other bikes have the same exhaust pipe size? 2. What other bikes slip-ons will fit my bike without any welding?

been their read that. No one answered my first question. I already know any can will fit my bike with modification. I was aking what other bikes have the same pipe size as my GS and what cans will fit with the least modification. Next time read a little bit more and not just the damn title.

Short answer... you're going to have to do some modding with any slip not made for a GS500.  Problem is that damn angle from the front of the stock can.  Best bet is to find yourself a can on Ebay or something, any can will work... go to Monroe or some other muffler place and have them bend a new link pipe and clamp it on.

+1

There is nothing that fits the GS directly or closely. The only way to get that is to buy something made for the GS.

05-07 bikes have a larger midpipe diameter, and perhaps the 04 does as well.  If so, the "mod-free" options will be different (and probably better) than with the earlier GS models.
