Title: Anyone know of a good paint match to the silver frame for early models?
Post by: simoniz on July 31, 2007, 07:34:03 PM
I checked the Wiki and didn't see anything on this - so, has anyone found a good color match for the silver frame paint on 89 and onwards GS's? Mine has lots of scratches I would like to remove/cover, and I am not planning on taking the frame off for a respray any time soon. Is there an automotive silver that anyone else has had success with?

TIA

Simon

Go to autozone and get the silver metal-flake wheel paint.  Cheap, and it looks very close.  I painted my lower fork tubes, fork brace, kickstand, rear brake, front turn signal cases, and I've touched up the frame and engine case.  It all looks great, and no one would notice unless I told them, and even then, you wouldn't know where it starts and stops.

That's the best advice I can think of.
