This problem is purely electrical.
I put it in neutral, the idiot lights and headlight are on, hold in the clutch, press the start button and nothing happens, not even a clicking sound...
I replaced the starter relay, the one under the seat next to the turn signal relay. I know the starter motor is good because I jumped it at the starter relay(which I'll assume is good because it is brand new) and it turns over.
So basically that narrows it down to the other relay, wiring, or the connection at the button(which I disassembled and everything looked hunky dory.
Are there any tests that you guys know of to help narrow down the problem even further? I really don't want to take it to a mechanic. It's a pride thing.

Not absolutely positive....but i believe there is some sort of switch on the cluch, maybe that went bad :dunno_white: someone else wanna chime in on this if i'm wrong

When I had my 05, this broke after only 6 months and for the life of me I couldn't figure out what was broken. Finally I asked and found this. Fixed my problem.

Another way to test it is to pull both plugs and get a paper clip and clip them together making a connection and trying to start your bike. Becareful, if you do this your bike will start weather you have your clutch pulled in or not.
if the headlight flashes when u try to start it(probably only for newer bikes :dunno_white:), its probably either the clutch interlock or the kickstand interlock.
Suspect the clutch interlock switch or side stand interlock switch, either could be stuck open circuit. Find the two yellow/green wires around the clutch lever and short together, then find the green and black/white wires under the engine near the side-stand and short together, then hit the starter and see what happens.

+1 Happened to me once, and I had my bike half ripped apart in about 10 minutes before I remembered to check the wires on the clutch. I was freaking out big time.
This may sound really funny but it did happen to me with the GS I just got rid of.
One day, I rolled the bike outside to see if it was going to behave enough to get to work.
I had just installed a new headlight bulb the prior day and aligned it the best I could.
Took my walk around to check everything.
Turned the key, pulled the clutch, hit the button...........nothing.
Double checked everything, pulled the kickstand in, pulled the clutch in, hit the button, nothing.
All the dummy lights were on, the headlight was on, the brake light was on.
Now, I work in electronics and have for 20 years so I know my way around.
Took apart the starter switch, everything fine there.
Checked the kickstand switch, everything fine there.
Try again........nothing. No clicks, nothing.
Hmmmm.
Took out the jumper cables, hooked up to car (while off of course), hit the button, VROOOOOM.
The battery was both just weak enough not to even engage the solenoid yet strong enough to power the lights.
I let it idle hooked up to the car for about 10 min and it was fine after that.
Not saying that's your problem but may be worth a shot.
You could try to take the battery to an Autozone and have them check it for sanity or if you have a multimeter, you could check the battery with the lights on and make sure you don't have a dead cell or weak battery. (Don't bother checking it with everything off because with no load even a weak battery can and will read 12~12.4 VDC.)
