hello hello.
so at work i found out we started carrying little strips of led lights. due to extreme boredness, i hooked em up to a rocker switch and they seem to look pretty cool. at first i was thinking about replacing the back reflectors (on each side) with them, but figured that might be too annoying/flashy for my taste. so instead i decided that later tonight im gonna run it to the battery and throw it above the rear tire on the fender somewhere. i plan to take pics of everything for those who want to do the same. i figure worst case, that if it looks stupid: its only a couple of minor holes in the fender where no one will see it or i just keep the switch in the "off" position. the only thing im worried about is their waterproofness. i work at a boat shop so everything is a "marine" (aka waterproof) grade so we will see. any input you guys can offer on that would be great.
i'll post pics when its done for either...
a) a nice cheap mod or
b) a waste of time that looks wayyy to flashy for the gs.
anyone else who has done something like this with additional input would be great.
I have two LED licence plate bolts that light up when I hit the brake.. you could try doing that..
I don't think anyone has done additional LED lights but a lot of us have JeffD made.
Greg's website has a few pics of what it looks like.

nice nice.
my little brother got these funny little things for his honda shadow deluxe. its like these things that cover the tire valve caps and strobe when vibrated or something...now thats just too flashy for me!
but damn does it look cool on his bike....
yeah.
JeffD's LED's are really sweet. i tried just using some LED bulbs that fit and worked in the socket but were half the brightness which i feel compromises my safety.
one day i plan on getting those from him...
I have those things for the tyre valve stems.. they are called Tire Flys.. but i have only used them once. They were cheap (on sale) @ radio shack for 5 bucks or so.

Check out my site for some install photos to see what the circuit board looks like. Then you could search for LED here and you'll come across the thread where JeffD describes in electrogeek how the thing is wired, including loads etc.
I love mine.
