I bought a center stand to put on my bike, and it came with 2 springs, but I only see a place for one. Do they go side by side in the same spot or something? Anybody got a pic by chance?

Actually, one inside the other, but yeah, they both hook onto the same mounting points. The sidestand is the same way, if you want to see how it looks.
let me go check for you....the smaller spring goes into the larger spring and they hook on at the same spot:

Thanks fellas. Those things have some serious tension on them, any trick to getting them on?
clamp em with some vicegrips and use both hands and hold the centerstand up with your foot :thumb: :dunno_white:
I have a big scar over my eyebrow for not respecting those springs. Definitely use vice grips, and tighten them HARD. Don't use big pliers because you're too lazy to go back to the tool bench for the vice grips or you might end up like me.
I have another way and its much safer. When I put my centerstand back on for repair I put the springs on first, then I mounted the stand to the bike.

+1 on that...Or if you have a brake drum tool for cars that works out real well also.

That is the safest and easier way. :thumb:
Old biker's way is to put one end of spring in a vise, pull on the other end, insert pennies into the coils to keep the spring extended.
Remove from vise, place ends of the spring over the pins, pull out pennies, the spring contracts. Just used this on my Kawi. :thumb:

I just replaced my Center Stand. The penny spacers is genius, but not so easy with the spring inside a spring thing
that Suzuki has going on here. As of Now I got the larger spring on and am going to see how that works solo.

Put both springs on. You need them. It will bounce up & down with only one.
Hook both on the frame.
Use a loop of wire or hook and hook them over the center stand peg one at a time. Do the inner one then the outer one.
Another way is to have the center stand off. Hold in sort of the right position with the springs in place. Pull on the center stand (easy to hold on to it and pull) then shove the bolt in when it is in place.
I've never had problems getting the springs on.

I was going to mention that ol' school method... prob is we don't have pennies anymore!
(s'pose you could slip your credit cards between the coils) :D
