Title: anyone have any Firstgear experience?
Post by: tripleb on August 07, 2007, 12:06:01 PM
I just bought a new Firstgear Leather Mesh-Tex Jacket because it's so effin' hot in Florida and was wondering if anyone had any experience with Firstgear products and this jacket in particular.

I have their rain gear and it's pretty good.
Have a pair of their HT pants and they are great.
Have a pair of their mesh gloves also.
Everything holds up well.

I have one of their jackets, not made anymore.  Can't remember the name of it, but it's textile with leather shoulders and elbows.  Good jacket, no problems with it.

I have a FirstGear "Hammer" jacket. It's a good all round jacket, but arms are a bit long.

I got my jacket from BikeBandit on saturday and it was the wrong size.  I ordered a large and received a medium.  I contacted bikebandit through that online chat they offer on their site.  After hassling me and telling me I didn't order a large because Firstgear doesn't make them in that size (I had to show them on their site that they offered a large of that jacket) they are sending me a shipping label to return it for free.  Overall, I was a little pissed with the way they handled it, but once they realized they were wrong they did a complete 180 and were very nice.  The moral of the story is make sure you take a screenshot of your order or you might be screwed.
