Title: Re-Keying
Post by: ssinema on August 09, 2007, 06:43:17 PM
Anyone have any experience with having an ignition re-keyed? I am wondering about average cost, difficulty, etc. Or would it be easier to just buy a new one??
Thanks!

i had my kat keyed for like $30  i think it was worth it.  If its a gs it might be easier or cheaper.  Its not that hard to take the top triple off and have them give you an estimate.   Or you can ask around to see if anyone is selling one and compare pricing

I had to replace the ignition in the gsxr, I had the tank and seat keyed to the new ignition for $35.   Sounds like a good deal but they jacked up my gas cap and now if I launch it really hard gas comes up through the lock. I've taken it back like three times and they still haven't gotten it right.
