Came upon a pre '01 GS, owner was wearing shorts, boots, 2 t-shirts (great armor), and a helmet with a green mohawk, headphone cord flapping in the breeze (way to advertise the fact that you're doing something illegal.. I tuck mine in my jacket)... Got a wave, thought it was cool, it's only the second GS I've seen since I moved to Atlanta.
Just seeing if it was anyone on here
god i hope not
one of my buddies just got one of those goofy mohawks. it certainly makes drivers notice him more. i saw tons of people doing double takes.

Why? Is it the lack of gear or the mohawk that upsets you.
As much as I disapprove of not wearing gear on a bike, it comes down to personal choice if a rider wears the proper gear or not. If people want to risk their life & comfort by not wearing gear, then it's their problem if they come off. I only worry about myself these days.
Yeah it was me (but i had pants on, boots with shorts? I have some fashion sense but no gear sense it seems). No i wasnt wearing my gear. I wore it all day up in deal's gap and the mountains but I dont need to justify my gear or my ipod cord. If you followed me you would have saw the guys splitting lanes at 100+ on 285 then maybe i would look like a hero instead of getting a thread that will surely turn into a "wear your gear or die tommorow" I dont get the internet "people who dont wear gear die quick". You see NONE of that in your face attitude in real life about wearing gear. Yes, i understand the risks and im glad people point it out for the new people. Yes, i have wrecked in the mountains and i had my gear on. Yes, i know how much of my skin it saved me. I choose to ride with more risk, i really dont think my gear is going to help anyone but myself, and I make that decision. No hard feelings eh? I still want to see you and your bike again once its done!

I felt like a 50 mile ride without it. But dude, you didn't explain the green mohawk
It looks awesomeof course. but i usually dont wear it a lot because it makes it more difficult to turn myr head because of the rudder-like design. I was in deals gap yesterday and it was cool to see the reactions of the other people with mohawks, it was like we connected on a much deeper level when we gave our motorcycle salutes. Both sides were much more than a simple hand out as we passed each other
wait... yupoo == granz? Thought you were granz here too? Oh well. I like the mohawk.. actually trying to find 2 black ones, to make a rather unique design on my helmet. I've seen someone cut a rear sprocket in half, and grind it to the contour of the helmet, and make a mohawk.. I thought about it, but it seems like it would greatly increase the risk of neck injuries in a wreck, so I decided against it. As for the gear, sorry, my post sounded a bit condescending, I guess I shouldn't have written it that way. I was just excited to have seen another GS, didn't realize it was someone I actually know. I hope this thread doesn't degenerate into a "wear your gear, squid" thread, I've started/posted in enough of those. As for the guys splitting at 100+, yeah, I see em all the time, I think they're idiots. Girl on a gixxer blew past me on 75, right after I passed you, about 6 inches from me, cuz I was hugging the left line at the time, she was hugging the right, startled me a bit. I can imagine what it's like for cagers who already don't like motorcyclists.
Oh well. I'm heading to NC for work in a few weeks, gonna try to hit a few roads on the way (Since I get paid for the drive, might as well have some fun), be there for about 2 weeks. When I get back, I'm gonna try to head up to N. GA, since I just got my new tires, and they're amazing, and I want to really test em. I'll let you know when I go, it'll just be me and a few safe riders that I trust.
Nah dude, i am as chill as they come and it takes a lot more to get be bothered! I got my hawk at wow motorcycles in marietta but i dont remember which colors they have.
I thought that the mohawks were a stunter thing, but it seems that it's a stunter/young persons thing. :icon_mrgreen:
Yeah, I'm dumb, I like to be different. Hence all my piercings
+1 NGFL
I might have more piercings tho :thumb:
i rock a real hawk. Been thinking of getting one on my helmet too. Thats just jackass enough for me to do.
lets all get one....wait don't stop there lets all get peacock feathers glued to our butts
