I would like to take an opportunity to applaud anybody here who regularly has to brave hwy 101 anywhere between san jose and san francisco going either direction.
I swear its like storming hte beach at normandy.
You and Pandy :thumb: And, all the others (on Barf). I used to. Hwy 280 is better if you can take it. And, 5 minutes makes a difference in the amount of traffic; if you can leave 5 minutes earlier than you normally do, you may find the traffic that much better. Of course, I don't know when you leave.
the 680 "wind tunnel" in Fairfield is a pain too. unless u like dragging your knee going straight .
Here's how you do a proper commute in the bay area.

And I get to hit up four corners on the way home everyday. :icon_mrgreen:

I'm doing shoreline @101 to san bruno @101. so there isnt really a good way otherwise.
I did East San Jose to Foster City for a looooooong time. I like 280 better, but it's damned windy. I usually just took 101 and split in the diamond lane. :icon_mrgreen:
Ha ha suckers it takes me 15mins to get to work & that includes stopping to get the mail & daily papers :flipoff:
I now live 1.1 miles from my office. :flipoff: The good part is no more traffic. :thumb: The bad part is that it takes longer to gear up than to ride to the office, so I just ride on weekends now.
I live 10 km's (6.2m) from work. If I take the long way home it's 20km's :icon_mrgreen:
Well...yeah...the long way home is about 60 miles for me! :icon_mrgreen:

just circle the block a few times or something
I have a race track to go around on the way home, if I want. :icon_razz:
Yeah, but if you go around it too much, you'll get in trouble with your wife! :P

I guess I could do this in the morning, too... leave an hour early and take the long way to the office...
