Welcome!

Your bike looks good, but I can only see the last picture in your post for some reason.

Looks good, the katana shock is super sweet, but I would advise against the PP Race tires,  DOT approved race tire suck on the streets, they never get hot enough to get good grip. Stick to street tires and you will be much happier

Very pretty looking vehicle. :thumb:
Even though I'm not a fan of faired GS's (rather the opposite as well), I love the colour scheme, the tiny turn signals, and the fenderectomized tail looks very very clean and neat. :thumb:
Cutting it short, good job man. :thumb:

Great looking, and running I'm sure!!

Welcome :thumb:

BTW, how do you like those NGK iridium plugs?
Title: Re: thought about my bike! with pictures
Post by: waiho on August 14, 2007, 03:49:04 PM
actually, I replaced the lens with a clear one, then changed the buld with one that is composed of 20-30 led's (can;t remember how much)

then I put in module that makes the blinking separatly on each side>>> left and righ buld ( you might notice that one buld is brighter on the right side, when turn signal is on).

I later found out it was not noticable unless you look directly at it, so I added licence plate turn signal!

about the plugs, it's hard to say, cause I did the jardine, rejet, lunchbox and plugs all at the same time. I was stunned by the power it gave to it.

now anywhere I go, I get looks and good comment about the sound of the jardine!

Did you have to cut holes in your fairings to put those frame sliders on?

Sweet looking bike. Bravo!
Title: Re: thought about my bike! with pictures
Post by: waiho on August 14, 2007, 04:07:49 PM
yup, must make a tiny hole in the fairing, about the size of a quarter!

I was hesitant at first, but it adds a certain look at it that I like alot!

but think about it, would you rather have a well cut hole hidden with a frame slider, or a big cracked or scratched fairing! just my opinion!  :icon_mrgreen:

Very true. so they bolt to the frame, or are these a weld on type? Ive been thinking I should get some, being a new rider with a new bike and all....

there is a replacement engine bar that need to be replaced, but it's very easy. Did it in 5 mins, and I know nothing or almost about mecanic. From there, you need to make the holes in the fairing, then just screw your frame sliders to the new bar!

here's the link from where I got it!

http://www.rg-racing.com/browseBike/Suzuki/GS500_FullyFaired/All_Years/CP0158BL.aspx

Some idiot driver once make it fall over while parking and left it there like that on the floor! I only got a minor bar end Protectors scratch, and frame slider slightly scratched too. But my bike was intact, god I was happy I had those on!

salut waiho from over here in Ontario.

nice bike indeed - I like how clean everything looks.  don't forget to mention the progrip 719's since you were listing the details.

ssinema, when ordering make sure to specify faired or naked version.  I'm not sure if there is actually a difference, but if I remember right when ordering mine, there were 2 different part numbers (mine are on a naked bike).

is there a difference between katana 98+  (2006) shock from the 600 and 750 except from the reservoir thing!

-is there any advantage to have a reservoir??

-will it have any difference in the lean of the side stand, and will the center stand still be fonctionnal?

-I'm not very talll 5"4, I am able to flatfoot if I keep my right feet on the pegs! but tipsy toes is I touch both sides! will I have any problem with this mod with my height?

Great looking bike. I didnt realize that the F framesliders sat so low. How long are they?

the mounting point hasn't changed from the E to F, so they are basicly the same level.

the frame sliders stick out by about 2.5inch. it's enought to save your fairing and frame!

Your bike looks shmick mate!

The Black 04 was a nice looking bike but your touches have made it look (gangster accent) sui-perb!!!  :thumb:

For some reason that's the first time I have seen a proper frame slider for the F model.

Might have to look at getting one of those. Unfortunately they'll look better on the black bikes rather than my White and Blue 05.

nice bike!!  where did you get your turn signals??  did you need to do any custom fiddling to get the front ones set?
