So I want to buy this exhaust badly I'm just not sure if it's worth the money... (I found it for $206-$260)
I've heard some SVs (I know it's V twin so it's bit different) with Leo Vince SBK slip-on and I think it sounds great on them. It's so much meatier and bad ass :icon_twisted: than stock muffler.
I currently have stock pipe from GSXR 600 installed on my bike (bolt-on) so installing leo vince will be a snap.
What do you guys think? Should I spend the money and invest in Leo Vince? Or maybe you have other, better recomendations?
Waiting for your opinions
Cheers

Like I've said before...Jardine full system (ss headers, mid pipe, alum can) for 350.

Yes I do have a link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Leo-Vince-Bolt-On-Aluminum-Suzuki-GSX-R-1000-01-04_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35596QQihZ008QQitemZ180091979895QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V
It is exactly the same as this one. Although this one is advertised for GSXR 1000 it's still the same model I believe.
W8ting for info

fixed link: here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Leo-Vince-Bolt-On-Aluminum-Suzuki-GSX-R-1000-01-04_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35596QQihZ008QQitemZ180091979895QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V) :thumb:
edit: damn u caught it... oh well now theres two haha
i'd go for the jardine full system
actually I am not crazy about the jardine's look. I don't like shiny mufflers too much... The sound is OK but I think Leo would sound good either + the installation would be extremely easy :D + the stock headers are quite good on 04+ models so I dont want to spend extra $150 to replace them.
Thanks for your opinions anyways
Any other ideas are still welcome

i got mine of ebay for £220 delivered, quite a saving. I will try and get a clip uploaded as well as some pics. Currently riding around without baffle and it honestly shocked me how good this can makes my gs sound! I will try and upload some stuff tonight.
great!!! I can't wait to hear that!!!!!

Yesterday I bought brand new LEO VINCE SBK for 2001-2005 GSXR 600. It's bolt on and I hope installation will take me 5 minutes or less. I got it on ebay for $200. Not cheap but not expensive either. I hope it will arrive this week, if it does I'll post some picture and hopefully some sort of a sound file for those of you who may be interested in it's sound. I hope it will be nearly as good as on SV650. I'm just wondering if I'll have to tweak my jetting if so I'll have to get rid of that DJ crap and start from scratch... (I am currently using the largest main jet from DJ kit)

I promise I will post those pics and sound for you!! my girlfriend is starting to moan that it is too loud!! ha ha
I just got mine today. Installed it and I was speechless for a while.... it is AMAZING!!!! it looks great because it's bigger than stock GS500 pipe but smaller than stock GSXR600 pipe, so the size is just RIGHT!
about the sound:.... let me just say.... WOW.... what an freakin' improvement... I've never thought that GS500 can sound that good!! the sound is very deep and throaty plus it's not coming from engine anymore!! it is open exhaust so it gives you maximum flow, no removable baffle so you can't make it quieter though. but I don't mind, I wanted to make it loud and deep sounding and that's what I got!!!
I didn't have time today to take any pictures but I promise I will take some tomorrow or on Sunday and post them here.
The only thing I have to do is cut my midpipe and change the angle a little bit - twist it a little - it is oval pipe so it must be done very precisely cause now it looks kinda odd..
I'm so happy - this is the best mod I have already done to the bike!! Plus really good bang for the buck since I only paid $215 for brand new can (shipped)

Kml.krk, nice bike ... the pipe looks great as do the flush-mounts. Feel free to post a sound clip if you have one :)
You call that dirty!?!? :)
Cheers,

I don't have sound clip yet, but I will make one. I just have to figure out a good way of doing it. I have two microphones but they are cheap quality microphones mostly used for LAN games. Anyways I'll try to do my best and post a sound file.
Thanks very much for your opinion!

Sounds good, I like it. :thumb:
Nice can ,looks good and sounds good :thumb:
Me wants one :icon_mrgreen:
VERY NICE! Okay, dumb question, what mods did you have to do to get the bolt on fit from stock? I've been looking at Yosh cans for Gixxer 600s too, '01-05, hoping I could get it to fit my '01 without too much heartbreak, I want the TRS tri oval.
It looks gorgeous on your bike, down to the yellow sticker, sounds wonderful. Got that nice rumble I want too, I just don't want super loud, but yours didn't sound head busting loud, sounded just right. I'm tired of mine sounding like an angry sewing machine though. My hubby loves that expression, and now he says his DR sounds like a furious washing machine, because it's a thumper (like a washing machine out of balance) and pops a lot.
Any advice would be MUCH appreciated. We don't have any moto friendly muffler shops down here, and all my welding equipment is gone. I found a V&H full system, but that's it, and don't know how to work out the fitment of the '05-'07 Yosh for my '01 just yet.
Sounds nice :thumb: A bit like the baby brother of the bike I'm picking up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvZ9VcObAxQ

Before I installed Leo Vince I had GSXR600 stock pipe installed ;)
This is how I've done it (welding done by my father - I can't weld to well):
Basically I used custom made flange (4 bolts pattern made of 5mm steel), cut the midpipe in 2 spots (behind the collector and before muffler). Then I changed the angle of the midpipe to make it fit nicely and to gain some brake clearance, then my father welded the midpipe to the collector. Finally he welded the flange to the midpipe at the appropriate angle so I could easily bolt on the new muffler.
It propably sounds complicated but if you have the welder it's not that bad :)
The final step was to paint the pipes :)
PS welding of the midpipe to the collector and flange to the midpipe was done off the bike (whole exhaust system detached from the bike - attached to the bike only for measurements)
here is a link to the website with some pictures of the pipes: http://bikepics.com/members/kmlkrk/04gs500/
good luck and thanks VERY much for positive comments!! I greatly appreciate that!

nice baby you're picking up :) congrats!!
Mines charcoal grey and half faired but it's the same engine.
That pipe really does sound nice on the 500, whodda thunk to put an SBK on a Suz 500
Great sound and great look on your new pipe, man! I'll be picking up that same bike (with a few scratches) hopefully this week and it gave me hope that I can keep it for a few years without pining for a better sounding bike. The only bad thing is that I have no way to weld the pipe on so I'll have to take it somewhere (which will surely cost an arm and a leg).
I was wondering if you had to rejet your carbs at some point (either with the GSXR can or the new one)?

Yes, I had to rejet the carbs. I installed lunch box filter all together with new pipe so rejet was a must.
