Title: 1994 GS5OOE 0il C00lEr
Post by: TANNER on August 18, 2007, 03:56:25 PM
I read a few of the older post and they did not lead anywhere. I was wonder if there is a oil cooler available for the older gs500's?
any sort of kit for this add on etc.

thanks

Why?  :dunno_white:

Seriously, it is not needed.

Agreed -- it was added to the GS500F to aid in engine cooling because the fairing Tupperware Plastic Garbage reduced airflow around the motor at low speeds and made it run hot.

your right cooler running is better but the oil cooler will not fit on the e models

You could always install a tranny cooler from whatever junkyard is close by.

I wouldn't want another possibility for a leak myself.

Apparently the gs isn't in need of a cooler provided you aren't running it in a hole in the Mojave. Wouldn't really matter then either ;)

You can rig up a cooler from tranny exchangers and plumb in a themometer but you'll want to keep the added oil volume in mind when doing changes. I wondered about adding a cooler myself, but since I've put 18,000 miles on a 10 year old gs with no issues (other than carburation) I think I'll leave well enough alone.
