I keep getting pop ups and crap and it has something to do with this winantivirus 2007, their ad comes up the most. I have AVG internet security and it found some of this stuff but didn't get rid of all of it. Anybody else have problems with this adware crap?
aye, DO NOT click on it. you can get rid of teh program err spam-bots but in all honesty it is far easier to re-install windows ( and avoid pr0n sites)
get spybot, ad- aware, spyblaster, and if you know what you're doing u can get highjackthis. get firefox and the NoScript plug in(pain to unblock needed websites but helps a lot and no ads on webpages!). oh and delete system restore files its only reinstalling itself from that :thumb: i havent had virus or spyware in months.
edit: oh and uninstall that winantivirus thing from add/remove program - its a fake.

I haven't had a problem with spyware or viruses in a long time, I've tried to get rid of it but no luck, every time I find something new and delete it but it still exists. Ugh, I guess time to backeverything up and reinstall then.

GREAT....i just reinstalled windows the other day haha, oh well.
I would get a mac...but...first off I already put my $1200 into my toshiba...and...I find that when using my friends macs or my moms that there are web pages and such that don't work, and programs are really spendy.
you are infected with a Vundo-family trojan. Symantec has a tool that may help to remove it but this virus is particularly nasty. Run the Symantec tool:
http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2004-112210-3747-99
and if you're still seeing symptons a wipe and reinstall is the best way to go.
Web pages that don't work :cookoo: not likely, unless it's old and hasn't been updated.
Spendy??? dude, check out the downloads section of apple.com, there are shaZam! tons of free programs :cookoo:
The computers themselves are rather expensive when bought brand new, but well worth it :thumb:

I grew up using a mac, so they don't bother me or anything. I bought my own PC back when I was like 14 or something, and used it for games and such and have just grown towards windows since. Now I get on my moms computer and I almost feel lost. But there ARE things that don't work on a mac, it may not be a huge deal, but it can be annoying. Even with the newest software.

I already reinstalled, just seemed easier and then I would know for sure it's gone. Thanks though.
