Welcome!

Is that 130-140miles per week?

And, how much oil are you having to add each week?  A quart?

Here's some links that may help, I searched using "consumption" first:

Next, I'd search on "burn" and "quart", both at the same time, but I'll allow you to do that.

I know this guy from Israeli forum ,he just rebuilt his GS and already got to test if it goes 180 kmh after 2 weeks,

never heard of running-in or simply doesn't care as most people here .Oil consumption should be the last of his concerns  :cookoo:

Thread jack: how often would you change the oil for a somewhat daily rider in a hot California summer, or anyother ttime for that matter? its at about 3k right now with the oil from the 600 mile maintenance.

I change it every 3k or whenever I get bored.

I put approx 15k a year on my bike... its abused daily.

I'm pretty bad at remembering to change oil, so I usually put 4-5K on before I get around to changing it.  Oh wells, 30K hard miles and it's running stronger than ever.

I've been changing mine every 4000 miles + or - 100, as a daily California rider.  I've added about 2 seconds of oil (about 1/8 quart) since my last oil change 3000 miles ago.

Well I have '97 GS that I rebuilt couple of years ago ,and it doesn't consume much oil at all ,but I don't wring it's neck that much .

At first after overhaul the consumption of oil is high but after proper break-in period it goes down but the harder you ride the more oil it burns.

It should only consume what you put in it. If its going and taking it off the shelf and consuming it, you have a problem.  :icon_mrgreen: ...
Someone told me that and I right about fell out of my chair laughing. OK in the written sense its not that greatly funny.
Cool.
