Title: strange startup problems
Post by: l3uddha on August 26, 2007, 08:46:09 AM

hi all,

recently I installed the jardine exhaust, rejetted, and balanced the carbs.

I've been working on my bike a lot this past week for a trackday on wednesday, & yesterday when I started it up strange things were happening with the choke.

as far as the jetting goes; things seem fine. I've taken it for a few test rides and it feels pretty smooth. doesnt seem overly rich or poppy at all.

When I start the bike with no choke; it starts, and idles at about 1k becasue it's not warmed up.

when I start it with full choke, the revs hold at about 4k for a few moments; then slowly fall below 1k and it dies.

the choke cable itself seems fine and doesnt appear to be sticking or anything.

if I start it with no choke, and then give it choke; it revs up for a few moments and then dies again.

about 3/4 choke and it will hold the revs. full choke and it struggles and dies.

again, while riding everything seems fine and the bike appears to be running alright.

suggestions?

I've had bikes like this before, just use 3/4 choke.
