I'd like to do one later this year.  I'm new on this bike but I can make a small ( 6 hours :P ) trip from Memphis over to Deal's Gap.  While I'm there I'll head over to the BMP too. :)

I'm trying to convince the wife to take a mid-October trip, if the funds are there, to make up for the trip cut short this summer.

Be careful on the dragon; the Tennessee Highway Patrol is harassing motorcyclists. They do saturation enforcement on the weekends now.

If you go, make sure you and your bike are 100% legal, have all your papers, and don't exceed the posted 30mph speed limit on the TN side of the Dragon.

tailofthedragon.com, dealsgap.com, and killboy.blogspot.com for the backstory on this developing nuisance.

That site is a bit excessive :P  They exaggerate a lot.  :dunno_white:

If you're a local TN, they will cut you more slack but don't think they're nearly as bad as the really :bs: stories you see on that site.

Now, which site are you refering to?  Because tailofthedragon.com , killboy.com, and dealsgap.com are all different sites, and dealsgap.com is not affiliated with the others at all.  Also, check youtube.com for videos on the 'exagerated' claims.  Or google other US 129 related web sites that are all reporting the same saturated enforcement.  Or, you could read the THP press release on the saturation efforts (of course, the police are probably exagerating as well).  Obviously, if you're obeying the law, you'll have nothing to worry about.  But, I wouldn't risk it on the weekends right now.

I always see cops, at the same time thier are crashes all the time so they have to be up there.
