Title: Bike is making new noise
Post by: RoadToRuin on August 29, 2007, 03:08:24 PM
So my bike is making a "skeet skeet skeet" noise, sounds like a belt or something. Any ideas on what this might be? Anything serious? Solutions?

Thanks

Tell us more. Have you done something to it lately?

Did you drive through Compton lately?  Left your iPod in the trunk with Lil Jon albums on repeat?

I haven't done anything to it lately that would have caused this new noise, it just sort of came about on its own. It sounds like its coming from the crank shaft. I don't think think it's an exhaust leak, it seems to keep up with the engine speed as well.

"skeet skeet skeet" sounds more like the front brake draggin' (normal).  Or, the rear brake.

If it's keeping time when you rev the motor in neutral...check the oil level.

Can you tell if it has a manual cam chain tensioner (only installed by previous owners)?
