Title: WTB 1/8" ID hose
Post by: beRto on August 31, 2007, 12:55:15 PM
Hi Everyone,

I have read instructions for building a homemade carb balancing tool.  It seems that 1/8" ID hose is required to connect to the carbs.  Unfortunately, I am having a lot of trouble obtaining this where I live (Vancouver, Canada).  I have tried McMaster-Carr, but they will not ship here.

Does anyone have about 15 ft of 1/8" ID hose that they could sell me?  Alternately, would a nearby US resident (Seattle maybe) be willing to order on my behalf and forward to me when it arrives?

15Ft.  5552K23  Fuel and Lubricant Yellow Tygon PVC Tubing 1/8" ID, 1/4" OD, 1/16" Wall Thickness

Thanks, Roberto.

they do not have hardware stores (or hobby shops) in canada ...? :)

since its a temporary application...it need not be 'fuel-grade'

if you still need tubing, i can get you some, but i'd be shipping from arizona...

Yeah, fuel grade is not required but will last longer. Expect to pay around $1USD/ft for fuel grade hose. www.towerhobbies.com carries it.

Autoparts stores will have 1/8" hose for vacuum lines on cars. My MotionPro balancer uses this stuff.

Tropical fish shops and aqaurium suppliers are good places to buy small ID  clear plastic hose and valves, they are used to airate and filter water in fishtanks etc and it costs next to nothing.

Thank you all for the replies.  I've tried autoparts stores, hobby shops, aquarium stores... nothing!  Anyways, you have inspired me to look again.  I'll let you know what I find.

Thanks!

ok, ok... so I went to a big autoparts store and bought 20' of the stuff for about $2.  I had put off trying there because it was really out of the way and I didn't think they'd have it (since nobody nearby seemed to).

Thanks again.

Yep, I just bought about 2 ft of from Autozone. I came up with the idea of splitting it and using it as a grommet for my 04 tank. It was $1.90
