Met up with a local guy fromt another board to go riding. Ok we (tarded400 and I) were on the last leg of our ride. We're on the strait road with an intersection on the left hand side with a car getting ready to pull out. There was a little distence between us, after he goes by she starts pulling out without looking back at me...I jump on the front brakes pretty hard since I was on dry pavement (rained a little earlier). Then I hit a patch of wet pavment and the front started to go out from underneth me so i let go of the front brake and got it back under me. Started to move over to the right of the lane (didn't get far enough)then I got on the brakes again maybe 5 or 10 feet from her car hit iat at an angle and thrown off the left side of the bike and slide maybe 5 or 10 feet. I get up as a I see tarded turning around and hauling ass back down. Let everyone know I was ok, talked with a girl abit and decided not to involve the cop and she said she'd pay for the parts to fix it. The bike was leaking oil from the magnito cover side. So we went into town and got some hi-temp quick set epoxy and some oil...went back and patched up the bike then rode it home. Also keep in mind that was within the speed limit (45mph) but all happened in about 100 feet. Now for your viewing pleasure...a picture of what happened (I know we all love pictures)

I was glad I have my gear on...even if it only saved my elbow from a tiny bit of road rash...I've gona over my bike since then and heres the list of broken/bent/cracked stuff
1. Magnito cover
2. My only mirrior
3. Snapped my centerstand (the part you stand on to get it down)
4. Headlight
5. Speedo Cable
6. Left plasics on the rear
7. bent my shifter
8. and my peg
The parts I can't fix came out to $433.07 and she's gave me 150 already so I'm gona be calling her up pretty soon to get the rest to fix it.
All I got now is a dime size bit or road rash above my knee and a brused hip and sore ankel
Looking back now I see a few ways it could've been avoided....If I rode on the dry pavment (mostly on the right side of the lane), If I was closer to tarded, or if I was a little further back. Either way I learned a bit from this and I'm ok...I live to ride another day.....who want to ride with me next???lol
Were the two of you riding in formation? That usually helps the cagers to see that there are multiple bikes. Some of them just don't look, though! :2guns:
Formation:
Bike 1
Bike 2
Bike 3
Bike 4
etc.
Glad you're (mostly) OK -- that sucks but could have been worse.
yea we were but it was the other war around...him top right me bottom left
Glad you survived. Hope you feel better/heal up.
Riding in formation is great for large groups, but when it just a pair you need to be more flexible. One of the best reasons the leader should be in the right track if for the above reason and for oncoming cars, especially left-hand turners. Also helpful when in the fast lane, or left-most lane, that way the leader can split between cars first, and smoothly; additionally he will be more likely to be seen in people's mirrors of cars that he is overtaking (the guy in back should also be biased to the right, but then he shouldn't be following too closely).
When in the right-lane, especialy when approaching an intersection with a car turning right coming from the right, then it would be best to be in the standard staggered formation.
You broke the #1 rule: ALWAYS get a police report. In many states it is required by law.
If she decides not to pay for all the damage to your bike (very likely) or you end up in the hospital with a swollen knee tomorrow, you're up shaZam! creek. She was in the wrong, very easily could have killed you, and deserves a ticket.
Good to hear you're OK, hope you can collect the rest.

Close very close. #1 rule: (only) Get a police report if its not your fault.
other wise I agree and hope she doesn't decide to give you the shaft.
...why wouldn't you get a report?? she must have been pretty!!
:icon_mrgreen: she was!!!!!!
o my knowlage it wasn't my fault but there were some things I could done to help provent it.
I'm on a driving probation thing...cuz of a past ticket I'm not allowed to get any tickets till after oct. 11th or I have to pay a heavy fine....and I didn't want to chance being ticketed for something...I've heard lots of storied where some people get in accidents (oviously not their fault) and get a ticket
Glad you made it out OK
